Quaint Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I loved the quaintness of this inn. Everyone was so nice, and the decor had history and character. The room itself was roomy. Keep in mind there is no t.v. in the room. I would have preferred one, but it is what it is. I would have liked a blind of some sort over the bathroom window, and I recall plugging in my computer across the room, so I'm thinking more places to plug it in near the bed would be nice. The fireplace was wonderful, as was having a balcony. The food was GREAT! We had drinks and snacks late afternoon and a wonderful breakfast each morning. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Neglected and filthy room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Our room was beyond disappointing. We paid about $700.00 a night and to be fair, it should have been 1/3 of that, or less. The shower was not usable. Mold and rusted shower head, faucet and drain. There was an open hole in the ceiling over the bed, with a rusted water sprinkler showing. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows left you with only one option: sleeping with your neck bent forward so much that your chin was on your chest. The window blinds were broken, the list goes on. It was dirty and just neglected. The public areas are renovated and very inviting which made the room even more shocking. Very small staff for it all. The stay left us wondering why they would even try to offer such poor accommodations for their guests to deal with. (I’ve never written a bad review in my life, but others deserve the heads up).

Thanks you for a wonderful stay!

Off the beaten path location. A tucked away gem! The interior is lovely with period decor. The rooms are spacious with each having their own name. Very comfortable beds. Absolutely worth it.

Room not at all as advertised.

Look at the photos of the room we were given and compare them to the website. We had a terrible experience at The Ballard Inn, and the Manager, Josh, was argumentative and did not offer us a different room or resolution. There were flying insects that got in our drinks and mold in the bathroom. The room was nothing like the photos or descriptions on the website.

I don’t suggest you go

We booked the room with the fireplace. The Fiesta room. The bed was like sleeping on a sway back horse. They tried to fix it with one of those cheap foam waffle mattresses, that didn’t work. The bathroom was actually disgusting with falling off tiles and mold and none of the drains drained well. There is an actual window in the shower that goes directly to the front of the building where a street is. So if you are showering at night you are definitely giving the street a show. The fireplace is gas and that’s it. No fake log set so we never even used it because there is a warning that you could set off the fire alarm by using it. There is deferred maintenance everywhere. Pumpkins and Christmas decor still out where you can see it. It is in a good location but we will never stay there again. I called ahead to see if we could check in 2 hours early and was told that we would get a text when it was ready. We never received a text. When we checked in at 4 they had a welcome wine that we weren’t offered. They didn’t even offer for us to leave our luggage early. The public areas have definitely been upgraded but our room was probably great in 2000. Do not suggest you stay here.
