Reviews for The Ballard Inn & Restaurant
We stayed at the Ballard Inn for our Spring wine tasting in Santa Ynez. The rooms are individually decorated. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you find things to do in the area. The surrounding area is lush and green this year with all the rain. Breakfasts are unique with a different special each day. My one complaint is that noise from the restaurant guests travels up the stairway late at night.

This small restaurant located in The Ballard Inn, combines Asian flavoring in an exquisite way pairing different flavors with well prepared meat and fish. The spicing is quite creative and distinctly unusual. You've not had this before. We celebrated a major anniversary at dinner and drove from Santa Barbara to get to this restaurant and it was well worth the 40 minute drive. We left wondering whether this was the very best restaurant we have ever been to, as the food and the service (Cynthia) were that exceptional. I don't dispense 5 Stars. This place deserved 8 Stars, it was so uniquely delicious

I absolutely love the Ballard Inn. Charming quaint place. Rooms are always clean. The location is quiet and peaceful and the restaurant is unbelievable. They have a guy they use for taxi service into and home from town that is very personable I look forward to our next annual trip back!

My room, which I shared with a friend, was large and airy. The decor was Victorian. The bathroom and shower were fine with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The staff was quite helpful. The inn is quiet and has two areas to sit and read. Cell phone coverage is very spotty but they have great wifi. Early March was a bit chilly and the common rooms cool to cold. But there are several fireplaces. The heater and air conditioning worked fine. There are many vineyard tasting room near by and Solvang is about 6 miles away.

I use to love his place for a special occasion meal. However, I have been back for over 5 years. I read about the redecoration of the dining room and the new menu. We went there on Saturday night and it was fantastic. The room reminded me of a New England Inn and the food was suburb. The four of us shared about 8 dishes and all were excellent. The fanny bay oysters were fresh and reasonably priced. The salad and pork belly dishes had a great range of flavors. The wine list is not extensive but very well thought out, with prices reasonable for all choices. Nice job. We will be back, and I hope soon.
