Cottage Grove Inn in Calistoga, Napa County, California

Cozy cottages with peaked roofs and pastel-colored shutters are a welcome sight after a day of wine tasting. Each cottage at Cottage Grove Inn is uniquely outfitted – sink into an overstuffed chair in front of a wood-burning fireplace on hardwood floors made from salvaged old-growth fir from an old whiskey distillery or into a wicker rocker outside, enjoying a Napa cabernet. The nearby town Calistoga – with its two-lane roads and ban on fast food restaurants – offers an equally quaint take on life.

Dig into a hearty breakfast by the fireplace in the breakfast nook. Borrow a bike for a day of riding along idyllic terrain, stopping at wineries en route. Have a glass of syrah at one of the area’s family-owned hidden jewels. Picnic in the vineyard. Nap. Unwind with one of the day's purchases in your cottage whirlpool.

Great evening wine and cheese tasting, great breakfast and great service! Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the mini fridge was well stocked. Lots of attention to detail. Jacuzzi tub came with bath salts. Robes and sleep masks in the closet. One of my favorite places to stay in Napa County.

My husband and I wanted a quiet and relaxing place to stay after a full day of tours and tastings in the area. The Cottage Grove Inn was exactly what we needed! We were warmly welcomed at check-in and the woman at the desk was happy to share some dinner recommendations, all of which were within walking distance, which we were thrilled to hear. Our cabin was private, adorable, and had the best two-person soaking tub! I loved that the toilet was in a separate section of the bathroom from the soaking tub and shower. It was also lovely to sit on our porch and take in the sounds of nature and be in a truly relaxing place. Cottage Grove Inn really is quaint and cozy! The bed was very comfortable. Since we'd been tasting all day, we passed on the wine happy hour and went straight to dinner, but we definitely enjoyed their breakfast the following morning, which had a great variety of fresh and delicious foods. My husband is still talking about the poached eggs. I personally loved the yogurt/granola mix with fresh fruit.Ā  The only drawbacks overall were that even though there were no smoking signs, there was still a lingering smoke smell in the air when we sat on our porch at night, as well as the sound of some partying happening in the neighborhood nearby the cottages. Once in the cottage, though, you couldn't smell or hear a thing, so it certainly didn't ruin our time at all. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the sound coming from nearby construction first thing in the morning, which isn't exactly what you want to wake up to after enjoying a few glasses of wine the night before. We do realize that these drawbacks were beyond the control of the property, and they certainly wouldn't stop us from returning. My husband and I have already decided that this will now be our go-to place when we're staying in the Napa Valley! We appreciated the privacy, the overall quiet from within the cottage at night, the warm and welcoming staff, the coziness, and the amenities, as well as the acknowledgement of military members through a discount. Cottage Grove Inn makes you feel like you are home from arrival to departure, and that's something that's not easy to accomplish. We look forward to visiting again very soon!

The cottage Grove in was the best place we've stayed in Calistoga, pet friendly, excellent staff, wonderful B&B with free happy hour from 5 to 7 PM including wine, meats ,cheeses and crackers then for breakfast smoothies poached eggs hard-boiled eggs bagels juices coffee waffles made to order espresso and again a very friendly staff. The rooms have king-size beds TVs fireplaces hot tub's showers two sinks I mean it is by far one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. The bed is on par with the Marriott in terms of comfort everything is very clean up-to-date modern, I highly recommend the cottage Grove in for any of your affairs while in Calistoga you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I visited the Napa Valley for a 3 day weekend and decided to stay at this little place. I had stayed here before so was very excited to see if my wife would enjoy it. It didn't disappoint. They have a great breakfast and snacks and wine in the early evening. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are very nice and well maintained. There's huge jetted tub for two, shower, fireplace, fridge and much more. The bed has been given the name "Marshmallow Bed" as it is just soft and cozy. There is a slight bit of road noise form time to time (like any of the places on the main street in Calistoga), but it wouldn't deter us from staying again. This is a great value and a wonderful spot. I highly suggest Napa Valley Balloons, INC as well!

Small property of individual cottages. Very well maintained. Rockers on the front porch. Woodburning fireplaces. Out of date deep soaking tubs. Great beds. Armoire setup with coffee for sitting around in the chilly mornings around the fireplace in your robe. Breakfast is good. Fresh eggs, waffles, smoothies, latte/cappucino. Fresh pastry would be so much better than the frozen options available. Wine and cheese is better than it was. Nice selection of some local Not well known wines. Cheese etc. is way too limited. Nice inside dining area and outside patio as well. All in all a charming stay.
