Cottage Grove Inn in Calistoga, Napa County, California

Cozy cottages with peaked roofs and pastel-colored shutters are a welcome sight after a day of wine tasting. Each cottage at Cottage Grove Inn is uniquely outfitted – sink into an overstuffed chair in front of a wood-burning fireplace on hardwood floors made from salvaged old-growth fir from an old whiskey distillery or into a wicker rocker outside, enjoying a Napa cabernet. The nearby town Calistoga – with its two-lane roads and ban on fast food restaurants – offers an equally quaint take on life.

Dig into a hearty breakfast by the fireplace in the breakfast nook. Borrow a bike for a day of riding along idyllic terrain, stopping at wineries en route. Have a glass of syrah at one of the area’s family-owned hidden jewels. Picnic in the vineyard. Nap. Unwind with one of the day's purchases in your cottage whirlpool.

Lovely setting with several beautifully placed cottages. Our room was large and comfortable with a fireplace and many amenities. Breakfast was superb. We have already booked another stay. Our goal was to relax and enjoy the spa experience in Calistoga. Our accommodations and spa experience were excellent. We highly recommend Cottage Grove Inn.

Our first time staying. The best comment my partner said in describing this place was that they really paid attention to what people may want, and had it in place and ready to go. A packed picnic basket, great evening wine/cheese, great breakfast, fireplace ready to go, a well stocked mini kitchen, directions and recommendations for hiking, tastings, dining, etc. We'd go back in a heart beat.

This is one of the best places to stay in Calistoga. Cottages are well appointed and the location is a block away from downtown. If you want to relax in a beautiful cottage in the Napa Valley, this is the place. Staff is very accommodating and helpful.

We loved this place. There was rain and sleet this weekend and the cottage was the perfect romantic getaway. The fireplace was perfect, as was the wine and cheese and breakfast menu. They tried very hard to accommodate your every need, bath salts for the Jacuzzi tub, a beautifully fluffy bed, comfortable chairs, food, drink, fridge, sleep masks, robes, bikes on and on....... we enjoyed being able to walk right into town for dinner after a long day of tasting. We will be back, highly recommend.

Apparently when the B-52's were writing the song "Love Shack" this is the place that they were speaking of. The Cottage Grove Inn, is a dreamy, romantic, NO KIDS ALLOWED! zone just for us grown-ups. This luxe 12 cottage B&B has thought of it all, right here in Calistoga, CA. Each cottage stands independent, with its very own front porch, stone fountain, garden table and chairs, and enough firewood just an arm’s reach out the front door to keep the embers running hot all night long :) Each cottage has been well equipped with luxury bed linens, chaise chairs; perfectly arranged to enjoy the flames, a wet bar, complete with stocked fridge, and flat screen TV are hidden behind a plantation shuttered closet. Just beyond the main living space, a large soaking jetted tub, yes! big enough for two (my hubby is 6'3'' and had no trouble fitting comfortably in there with me 5'4”) and a separate shower. Each en suite boasts his and her sinks with enough granite to fit all your toiletries. The inn has even thought of your feet, placing vents just at lower leg level in the bathroom, so they -your legs and feet that is, aren't cold when standing at the sink. Ahhhhhh luxury in small spaces makes me so happy. In the evening, there is cheese and wine and in the morning, there is fresh eggs, and a spread of seasonal fruits and concoctions all to either enjoy back in your cottage or in front of the fireplace in the cottage café. Whatever your choice, whatever your fantasy, the Cottage Grove Inn is worth considering. Enjoy!
