I loved the room, which overlooked the ocean and had an amazing sunrise view. Sunset was just as beautiful on our walk along the Crescent beach. They had a dog sitting service for us while we dined downstairs or when we took the short drive to Portland. Such a lovely room and excellent service ! I was able to walk their visitor—a dog—who was up for adoption there. Though it was wintery, it was walkable and beautiful on the grounds there. I highly recommend Inn By The Sea, especially if you need to bring your dogs! They had food bowls, water bottle and doggie bags for waste disposal and friendly staff to stay with them.

Opted to enjoy the winter storm from the Inn by the Sea. Amazed at the forethought to staff well. Everyone who worked during the storm warm and gracious. Made it so fun to be there with them. Paths well shoveled so we were able to get down to the beach....and snowshoes available as well! The room was so well-appointed and what a treat to take a Jacuzzi with the wind raging outside. Dining room a delight. Service, food, ambience...lovely. great to have a lovely glass of wine in front of the fire in the lounge.....best spot to meet and chat with the other guests...and their doggies too! Can't wait to get back...any time of year a real treat.

This is a special-occasion hotel for us. We like to spend long weekends in the off season for less crowded enjoyment of this beautiful property on the ocean. Their spa treatments are the best. The restaurant is divine. Accommodations are the best.

We stay here often with our son and our dog. Be sure to request a pet-friendly room. Our visits are always relaxing and we enjoy having time to walk the beach, visit Portland, and spend time together as a family.

We planned to stay for four days for a cozy romantic winter escape. But we only stayed for one day because we arrived to find out that there was a fireplace in the room but that it wasn't functioning. The staff made every attempt to make things right, offered a discount, offered an up grade. We accepted the upgrade for the first night, then we were told we had to move to another room or to our original room, neither had a fireplace. The worst was when at 830am a food truck and a trash truck were right by our bedroom window. While I was already up my boyfriend was not and it was already a task to get him to agree to the trip in the first place. The whole point of staying here was for a specific atmosphere, this for us meant an functioning fireplace and not being disturbed. Something I think our original room would have offered easily. We booked online through the hotels website but there was no indication that the fireplaces were under maintenance and not functioning. I had called the hotel twice before our arrival to make SPA arrangements and mentioned in detail what our intent was. But when we arrived and saw the non functioning fireplace, then when he was woke up prematurely after the first night stay...the moment was lost. I was disappointed and he was starting to stress out because I was stressing out at the fact that things were not going as planned. I hope that we can try it again sometime. Its a beautiful hotel the rooms were awesome but they missed the mark this time. I wish they would have warned me about the fireplace. I might have tried to reserve one of the other rooms but as it was there were no other rooms available for the number of days we were wanting to stay when we arrived. Moving from room to room is not my idea of a relaxing stay. OH, I forgot to mention that while we were in our room, naked soaking in a two person tub, someone walked into our room. The bathroom door open and the hotel room door right in front of the bathroom door. I am dropping the hotel a point for that and a point for the non functioning fireplace. The three points they did get were all because of the SPA staff and the front desks attempts at making things right, unfortunately just too much had happened to recovery at that moment, maybe we can try again in.
