Luxury comes naturally at Inn by the Sea, surrounded by the beauty of coastal Maine. Located on a mile of sandy beach in New England the Inn embraces an understated elegance with traditional coastal shingled architecture, but decidedly modern and stylish interiors. Inn by the Sea - part of the L.V.X collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts - has emerged as one of Maine's premier luxury seaside retreats and has been granted the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond Award. With just 61 rooms, spacious one- & two-bedroom suites and rooms, guests are guaranteed attentive service, elegant hospitality and an experience that promises to exceed expectations. Located in Cape Elizabeth, just 7 miles from Portland, the inn has managed to redefine coastal luxury with its sophisticated interior design coupled with a permanent collection of art created by renowned regional artists that grace public and private spaces. A private boardwalk leads onto the soothing shores of Crescent Beach, crossing through a sweeping wildlife sanctuary along the way. With such intimate surroundings, you might not expect the full-service amenities offered by larger hotels, but rest assured, Inn by the Sea is both full-service and fabulous.

Picture-perfect hotel in Cape Elizabeth, warm and welcoming staff, and delicious food. Great experience overall and looking forward to a return visit next month!

Food was a particular highlight (lobster pasta, burrata and peaches, salads, cocktails). I also thought my massage by Jake was one of the best I have ever had.

One of the older, male staff members openly talked about how my pup "woke him up" that morning as we were out for a walk. I confronted him and he lied to my face. The staff are not emotionally trained to tolerate children or animals. This location is great if you're single or a grandparent with a small, yippy dog visiting grandchildren that are "seen but not heard". Morning breakfast in the restaurant is eerily silent, and "family friendly morning yoga" is not something I'd feel comfortable bringing my two year old to. I feel as if this is a swanky inn trying to "keep up with the times" but does not have the capacity to to fully embrace the range of visitors it says it does. I regret not doing more research and coming to an understanding that this location is too pretentious to accommodate my dog and toddler.

This resort is as good as it comes. We had exceptional service on every level even though we only stayed one evening. Alex at the front desk created a memorable experience of excellent service for us, as did other team members.

The view, the location and the gorgeous grounds are always welcome. The staff always are friendly and supportive. If you need a nice beach experience in Maine, there is no other better option!
