Shady business practice. Buyer beware

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Read the fine print folks. This establishment took our $540 deposit readily. When we had to cancel over a week out due to illness - they would not honor the deposit in anyway. No partial refund, no gift card for future stay, no credit for a future stay. .We understood non-refundable - but this business practice is horrible. Never in 40 years of travel have I run into this. Buyer beware.

Just Inn time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

It was a last minute decision to stay at the Virginia. I was working in the area and a huge storm hit. What a wonderful experience! The Inn was a haven in the storm with fire places going and an active, attentive staff. The bartender was quite a mixologist, relating information on Chartreuse liquor and Negroni cocktails while making fabulous martinis (the tequila expresso is my favorite). The sheets on my queen size bed were softer than soft. As rainy and windy as it was outside, I was snuggly warm inside, as host Jarrett assured me. The next morning, I enjoyed a delicious and elegant breakfast in the Ebbitt Room (my choice) and already the fireplace was lit. Again, the staff was very attentive. I really hated to leave.

Luxury and comfort just off the beach.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

The Virginia Hotel is top shelf for luxury and comfort at a reasonable price. My wife and I were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary and were extremely pleased with the hotel and staff. The room was spacious and comfortable. The continental breakfast was acceptable which we had served to us on the wrap-around veranda each morning. We did not dine at restaurant which is very highly rated, however we did have drinks one evening in the piano bar which was relaxing. The hotel is 2 blocks off the beach and very close to the pedestrian mall/ shopping. The hotel is owned by a hospitality group which also owns Congress Hall and Beach Plum Inn where you can utilize their facilities. Overall, I highly recommend a stay when visiting the Cape May area. We will definitely come back very soon.

Great Cape May Spot

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

Absolutely fabulous. If you are going to Cape May do yourself a favor and stay at the Virginia. Beautiful, clean, great staff, comfortable quiet rooms and the bar and restaurant (Ebbitt's) were the best we found in Cape May. Top flight.

White Cottage at Virginia Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

We stayed in the garden apartment. Things we loved: convenience to the beach and town, use of pool at Congress Hall, EXTREMELY comfortable bed, great air-conditioning, washer/dryer outside our room, friendly staff at Virginia Hotel, chocolate chip cookies at the Virginia Hotel lobby. We did not love being on the first floor and kept the blinds shut, so it was a little dark- still it was great. We also had a parking spot just outside the cottage. Breakfast was not included since we had a kitchen but there are plenty of great places for breakfast nearby.
