Bernardus Lodge and Spa

Grounds very pretty and well manicured. Bernardus has been on our bucket list for quite. We arrive to a beautiful room and a great valet. However, when you’re there, you’re out of ways so we wanted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The service was horrible. I finally asked a bus boy if we could order our wine. And the service continued through the night. We ordered the risotto. There was no seasoning whatsoever. My husband finally asked for Salt-N-Pepa to be wrapped at the table so we could eat it. The same went for the Seabass. The next morning, I ordered eggs and toast. The toast was missing any sort of flavor as was the butter. I’ve heard there’s a new Chef. Unfortunately, we probably won’t be going back. It needs to be made a very special experience and it definitely wasn’t. We went to get our car that was being charged charged the next morning. The charger only gave us 2%. The valet said oh you were in the third charger that one doesn’t really work. At a five star hotel I don’t expect this.

Fantastic hotel that is well maintained, peaceful and shows impeccable hospitality to the guests. We didn’t the weekend at the Bernardus to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we had a great time. The staff was friendly, the grounds were very well kept and the rooms were clean and spacious! This is a wonderful 5 star hotel in Carmel Valley, and we certainly will be coming back here again!

Gorgeous grounds, bespoke decor in Vineyard suite , fireplaces galore inside and out. Complimentary delicious fresh and tasty treats in room , lovely experience.

We love Bernardus every year. It’s our home away from home, the one place we can completely relax. It’s so fun to see our four year old now getting to enjoy all it has to offer.

One of the best couple’s getaway! Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The delicious food was a farm to fork atmosphere. The on site spa was relaxing. Overall a 10/10 experience!
