Beautiful resort with full ammenities. Lobby & grounds beautiful and you become relaxed moment you walk up steps. Valet parking quick & easy. We had garden view room that was beautifully appointed, private patio, quiet and short walk to pool. Nespresso coffee maker in room the best! Rainfall shower & soaking tub. Fireplace in room & firdge with complitmentary bottle of Bernardus white wine. Pool are nice size. Spa great. Croquet & putting green. Spent 2 nights but wished we had more. Only a few miles from Carmel Village and wine tasting & restaurants, too

This hotel is probably one of my favorites. The service is just wonderful. We came to Bernardus for our 5 years anniversary with my wife. Thank you so much guys for making this special occasion unforgettable.

I stayed at Bernardus recently for a girls getaway on a recommendation from my sister. We stayed 3 nights. We flew in to SFO and enjoyed the drive down. The location is secluded enough to feel like a delightful secret but a quick drive to Monterey or Carmel by the Sea. We spent one morning hiking at Point Lobos Nature Reserve. The Lodge itself leaves very little to be desired. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and relaxing. The grounds and amenities had something for every mood. We particularly enjoyed the Bocce court, the infinity hot tub and the morning we spent at the spa. We capped off our visit with the tasting menu at Lucia. Overall it was a delightful visit. The cost makes it not an all the time place but worth the splurge. Will try and get back again soon.

We had a 3 night stay here midweek in route to San Francisco. Our first visit to the Lodge based on the recommendation of our daughter who has stayed previously. Great recommendation. The property is lovely, well appointed, very nicely laid out. We had a Premium room. Loved it. Quiet (was in a block of single story rooms). Spacious, large bathroom, and a gas fireplace that so enhanced the charm of the room. Very romantic. Dined one night at Lucia, the on property restaurant. We are vegetarians and had arranged in advance to have a vegetarian tasting menu prepared. Chef Monica wowed us with her creative and delicious offerings. Wine steward Don did a magical job pairing wines to courses, venturing off of formulaic softballs to present very well thought out pairings truly tied to each course. An outstanding meal all around. Highest kudos to all. All the staff here were exceedingly gracious and friendly. Standouts included Tim and Miguel (out front valets). And special thanks to Chef Bryce who we met while we wandered the Rose garden. He was out picking herbs and things for the evening meal. We stopped him to ask about some plants. He was exceptionally gracious in answering all our questions, and even offered us tastes of his tray of pickings even though we knew he needed to get back to the kitchen. That level of attention to guest interaction speaks volumes about the level of service and customer focus we found throughout our entire stay. Most highly recommended. We look forward to our next visit.

Road trip on the California coast. Chose this lodge for location, food and newly renovated rooms. Immaculate well appointed Villa - will look amazing when plantings mature. Friendly staff, food and wine we enjoyed - really relaxed bar, outdoor areas and attentive staff. I did think there would have been a stronger emphasis on local produce - certainly that was evident with the wines. We thought it was relatively expensive - it was out of town so you had to drive - desk concierge service was light meaning not very expansive on options. Perhaps that reflects the carmel region and there are not many high end accommodation selections. To be sure though, having done my own research - the attraction of the area is the natural coastal beauty and the mission heritage of Carmel. Overall, we had a great stay.
