Bernardus Lodge and Spa

We gathered four families to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The Bernardus facilities and staff were fabulous. Adam in sales was quite helpful in working through various options for our three generation gathering. We each had separate rooms but also had one large gathering space that was perfect for grandchildren to play. The buildings are beautiful and laid out for privacy. We were in close proximity to each other but far enough away for infants to quietly nap while others gathered. There are wonderful areas to explore and play. We would text the group about our breakfast plans and some would join us or take breakfast in their rooms. The fire pits were terrific for s’mores parties and early morning quiet observation with a coffee in hand. The Rose Garden hosted a wedding while we were there. A stunning place to stage any event! Guests could then stay over. Lucky them. Nearby Carmel-by-the-sea has many shops, restaurants and galleries. We chose to hike by the ocean, visit the aquarium and the beach. However one day was spent playing in the pool and lawn at the Bernardus. There are tennis courts as well. Overall, Fabulous!

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food outstanding, and the grounds and pool simply beautiful. My room was elegant and comfortable, with a private patio that made it feel extra special. A perfect stay—I can’t wait to return!

My daughter chose Bernardus as the venue for her wedding. Looking back at our 2-day stay, including the wedding and dinner, I can only say it was without a doubt, one of the most impressive displays of exquisite and professional hospitality, services, and employee warmth and competence I've ever experienced. It was a magical two days.

This was our first time visiting the Monterey Carmel area and let me tell that the Bernardus lodge and spa did not disappoint! It was the most beautiful grounds and amazing room experience we have had in a while! The whole staff was friendly and quick to response to our request, The spa service was awesome, and my wife had an awesome time driving the convertible Mercedes that is offered on the property and no additional cost! We will definitely be back soon!

We stayed five nights at Bernardus Lodge and Spa, and we keep a very good piece of memory of our stay in this beautiful lodge, located in a marvellous place, surrounded by the hills of Carmel Valley. Unfortunately, the beds were really to flexible, and such an hotel deserve better beds. If the restaurant for the breakfast was great, thanks to the chef and the team, we were disappointed by the quality of the meals at the restaurant in the evening.
