French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

We wanted to celebrate my return from deployment and enjoy a quick vacation somewhere in SC so we chose Charleston. After doing some research we decided to splurge a bit and stay at the French Quarter Inn. We were not disappointed. The service out of the gate was phenomenal, the valet/front desk staff/housekeeping/food service staff were very attentive. We were probably the only guests with children and the staff were gracious to have a pack and play available for our little one. The tea time, cookies and milk, and breakfast all made the stay all the more comfortable. The kids loved the jelly beans and Reese's pieces! The location is minutes away on foot from great eating, walking tours, city market, and the waterfront pier. A difficult location to beat and the service just sends to over the top. The price was on the higher end but worth it!

Loved staying at this inn. Upon arriving, we were warmly welcomed by the valet, who immediately contacted the front desk to notify them we were coming up the stairs. As we approached the reception desk, we were warmly welcomed by name and offered a glass of champagne. In addition to this lovely welcome, we were told that a complementary breakfast is offered every morning on the main floor. If we didn’t feel like coming down to breakfast, they would be happy to deliver to our room. There are also complementary appetizers and wine offered in the afternoon and dessert in the evening. In the morning coffee and tea are offered on every floor. The atmosphere of the inn is relaxing and very quiet. There was no slamming of doors, no noisy elevator and no traffic noises to disrupt our slumber. The bed was very comfortable. Thank you French Quarter Inn for an exquisite stay. We will return.

What a wonderful surprise to find this lovely hotel. We made the reservations based on reviews, and they were right! The staff at this hotel could not be more lovely. Polite, accommodating, thoughtful, helpful and full of genuine Southern charm. The Breakfast was amazing. Fresh berries, homemade yougurt, pastries, lox, quiche, etc. The beds were amazingly comfortable with many choices for pillows. The one draw back was our tub in the hotel- it was the slickest tub in the world- so be careful. Barbara in house keeping was a sweet heart and Kenyatta in reservations made a second room appear when we truly needed one. The front desk staff was knowledgeable and always had a warm welcome for us. The experience could not have been more wonderful.

My husband & I did a stay-cation, came in from Edisto Beach SC to have an early Valentine's celebration. FQ is AMAZING! From the people on the phone, to arriving in person, the staff exceeds over and beyond. We made it just in time for the wine & cheese reception which was a great way to start our romantic evening. The champagne was a nice treat too! Our room was lovely as well. We chose the FQ because it was within walking distance to the Diana Krall concert as well as many restaurants. The breakfast was very nice as well! Had brunch plans but cancelled them since FQ provided such a great breakfast. FQ is our new GO TO spot. Will return soon. Also, we didn't get to use the bikes that are provided, since we needed to return home, but will do that next time. What a great idea! GREAT, GREAT, GREAT all around! :)

My Daughter gifted me a trip to Charleston as I have talked about a trip for over a year. We shared the 12 layer coconut cake from Peninsula Restaurant for my birthday. Delicious and I do not really like coconut! But now off to this hotel. It was exactly what I had hoped for as I am VERY VERY VERY fussy about accommodations. The amenities were above and beyond my expectations. I loved the pillow menu and just this morning ordered 2 from the company. Ms. Anica Carr represented the Hotel with grace, joy and style. I felt like I had known her my whole life as she shows sincere southern hospitality in abundance. Kim was also very helpful and always took the time to answer my many questions as a first time Charleston visitor. My only recommendation for improvement would be to request that the floor coffee stations be set up more quietly in the early morning hours and staff refrain from talking on their cellphones at that time also. It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful HOLY City. Thank you very much. We would like to return this summer to enjoy the floral beauty.
