French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

French Quarter Inn is centrally located in downtown Charleston....within walking distance of almost everything there is to see and visit. The rooms were spacious and clean....and the staff just wonderful! Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this lovely hotel!

We arrived at the French Quarter Inn just in time for the wine and cheese reception. The selection of cheeses and wines were outstanding. Our room was beautiful, mattress and pillows outstanding! The staff exuded southern charm, and personal service. It felt like we were staying in a castle. I've never felt so spoiled and pampered. After staying there, we compared our other hotel stays and they could not measure up. The entire staff made us feel like royalty, down to the valet staff who brought stuff up to our room that we had forgotten to get out of our car. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to Charleston. It was close to the Market and great restaurants. It was the perfect location. The breakfast was wonderful, so different than where you usually stay. The courtyard reminded me of New Orleans. It was lovely to sit out there and have a glass (or two) of wine. This was by far my most memorable hotel experience.

I'm kind of quoting Lavar Ball (Ball Brothers fame) but it really is true when it come to the FQI. I have stayed here numerous times over the years as I've come back to Charleston and I have never lost confidence in their service, location, or quality. This trip was no different. When I checked in I originally was greeted my a nervous young lady that immediately told me this was her second day. She smiled and I would have normally thought "oh oh, this is not going to be good" but that wasn't the case here. The other receptionist jumped right over and walked us all through everything from check in to the wine and cheese offering that was going on at that time. The bellman, Josh, was a very nice and professional employee and helped us to our room. The room was very clean as expected. I've yet to be disappointed with any of the rooms since I've stayed here. Our room was layed out well with a lot of space and accommodations (large hanging closet, small fridge, TV, working remote with index of available channels, numerous pillows, etc). Their numerous food offerings through the day provide refreshments (breakfast, wine/cheese, cookies/milk) which is a really nice treat. Typically we like to come and go out of our room as we shop, dine, conduct business or visit friends. So to have treats waiting on you when you come back is a welcome thing. This hotel my #1 choice when I visit Charleston simply because I've never lost visiting here. I've always left a winner! The convenient location, great rooms, easy parking, and amazing staff are all reasons to consider for your next visit.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed, from beginning to end. We had a junior suite, which was very spacious with high ceilings, plenty of room, and a view of the marketplace. It was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was great, with lots of cozy indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor courtyard. We appreciated that it was served until 10:30 am! We took advantage of the 24-hour flavored water and coffee/tea service as well. The wine and cheese hour was staffed by very friendly and helpful staff. The location can't be beat. We were able to walk to restaurants, bars, historical sites and museums. The marketplace is right next door. We booked the room with the transportation package, so we had a private limo service to and from the airport, which was very convenient. We used our pedi-cab credit one night after a long day of walking. We used Lyft for a trip to Magnolia plantation, so we didn't need a car for the entire 5 day trip. It is pricey, but in this case you et what you pay for. We would definitely return.

We wanted to surprise our son & daughter-in-law for their delayed honeymoon so I called to see what they could do for them. Kim went above and beyond to help me set up a welcoming gift basket, couples massage and a gift card for a local restaurant. They were wonderfully surprised when they arrived! Thank you again for all your help and making them feel special!!
