French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

We booked three rooms for a girls birthday trip. The birthday girl got upgraded to the Christmas suite which was adorable. We were greeted with champagne and things went uphill from there. The beds were so comfortable and the air conditioning worked great (I usually get hot in hotels, but not here). The happy hour and snacks were amazing as well as the breakfast buffet. The area was perfect, central to most places but still quite and tucked away. I was blown away and will book here next time in town!

Stayed at French Quarter Inn for a girls’ trip with two friends. The location is perfect - walking distance to every restaurant we wanted to experience, shopping on King street, and steps from the market and carriage rides. The service at the hotel was wonderful - we were always greeted with a smile and loved all the extras the hotel offered. The breakfast, wine and cheese hour, and dessert and port treats were lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

Had a great stay at the French Quarter Inn during Thanksgiving week. The Inn itself is centrally located and accommodations were first rate. The entire staff from the front door to turndown service were friendly, attentive and helpful. The front desk was always willing to help (day and night) with suggestions for things to do and places to eat. While I wish I could mention everyone, Marvin and Brandi were particularly memorable. Marvin's help started before we arrived, as he helped set up reservations and tours and his help continued through our stay. Brandi saw to some last minute changes in our plans and provided us with a very helpful tour guide on our last full day in Charleston. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning, the wine and cheese service in the late afternoon and the evening milk, cookies and port wine. The French Quarter Inn really made our first visit to Charleston memorable

We returned for our 18th Anniversary to one of our favorite hotels in downtown Charleston, the French Quarter Inn. The staff, food and location are great for a week of enjoying this wonderful city. See you again soon!
