French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

We had a wonderful stay at the French Quarter Inn from the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty! The sincere hospitality and beautiful appointments were so nice. Our room was beautiful, 2 queens and terrace, comfortable beds, large bathroom. We enjoyed the breakfasts, wine and cheese and the port and cookies in the evening. The location was ideal for walking to dinners, shops and attractions. I would highly recommend thie French Quarter Inn! You won't be disappointed.

From being greeted in the driveway and escorted to the front desk to being handed a glass of champagne while checking in, French Quarter Inn has hospitality down pat! Breakfast (in room, if desired) was delicious and plentiful and the afternoon/evening offerings (wine/cheese/noshes at 5:30 and port/milk/cookies at 8:30) are both great "drop in" options for socializing and relaxing before and/or after dinner out. Every person on the FQI staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. My room was lovely and peaceful and well-located near the coffee station on each floor. I was with a group for a 2-day meeting and we took advantage of all of the offerings, including the meeting rooms and outdoor spaces. I'd also like to point out how lovely it is to have water provided in your room. 2 bottles in the fridge on arrival and 2 bottles delivered every night with a couple of before bed sweets. Perfectly located in a highly walkable area, close to the historic market, and fabulous restaurants, bars, and shops. Can't say enough good things about French Quarter Inn.

Lots of great things to do to fill your day. Carriage rides are delightful. Visiting the farmers market has lots of different things to look at...not a normal food, eggs, etc. marker. Great seafood at most restaurants. Travel around a bit and look at all the beautiful homes. Go out to see the ocean. Several areas around Charleston that are close to the Atlantic. King street is a nice area to shop. They have lots of great stores to shop. The majority of the hotels are within walking distance to the farmers mkt. King St. and the carriage rides. One of my favorite places to visit. You will definitely enjoy it. The French Quarter was expensive. Lots of other places to stay.

For my 65th birthday week, we visited Charleston. We chose to stay in a central location in order to walk to all the interesting areas in downtown Charleston and have access to the excellent restaurants in the area. An outstanding breakfast is provided each morning with delectable biscuits, quiche, fruits, pastries, etc. Southern class, comfort and hospitality abound!

As a discriminating traveler, this is a hotel that places a high priority on service. Yes, I've stayed at more luxurious hotels, more beautiful hotels but very few that have such attention to service. Not overt, "trying too hard" service but relaxed, natural service from well trained people who anticipate and care about the hotel experience. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, great central location, great cocktail and breakfast and turn down amenity; just an excellent experience in every way. Highly recommend this lovely little Inn
