Reviews for French Quarter Inn

30 th anniversary trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 18 hours ago

Stay at the French Quarter in a couple years ago during Covid. Found it an intimate European like feel. Wanted to try it again to see if we would have the same experience. It did not disappoint. It still has the same charm and nice amenities that we found so pleasurable the first time. In addition, however, this time we found the front desk staff to be extremely cordial and helpful. Especially want to make note of Bob who made us feel very welcome and spent at least 20 minutes talking with us individually. One evening we sat in the lobby and played board games that are available to all hotel guests. As a result, we witnessed his interaction with other guests. He greeted all who came with the same courtesy and interest that we found to be so genuine. Also can’t beat the location one block from St Phillips church.

We have been guests at the French Quarter Inn 12+ times over the last 8 years! Each time has been a fabulous and welcoming stay! The rooms are great - spacious, comfortable and with great amenities! People are amazing - Front Desk, valet Parking, Servers, household staff! - they ensure that your sty is exceptional! Food and beverages are superb! Absolutely the best place to stay in downtown Charleston!

Fabulous stay at the French Quarter Inn

From the moment we checked in, the service was absolute perfection. The staff (Bob, Kim & Marvin) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, accommodating every request with a smile. Our room was stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, along with an incredibly comfortable bed and high-quality linens. The amenities were top-tier, and the location made exploring Charleston incredibly convenient. Breakfast was delicious and Izzy made wine hour an absolute delight. We had a flawless experience from start to finish and cannot wait to return!

Location with nicities, but bad vibe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The difference between our last visit a couple of years ago and this visit was stark. The joy was gone and replaced by stressed out staff members that looked like they could be fired at any given second. It was uncomfortable. Additionally, the breakfast was superlative last time and subpar this time, less than a Hilton Garden Inn. Sleep, cleanliness, and location were all great. Happy Hour was the highlight.

The best place to stay in Charleston

We love everything about the FQI. The location is fabulous and everything is close by——the market, restaurants and shopping. The ambiance in this unique, boutique hotel is warm and welcoming. We have never stayed in a place that is so warm and with such great hospitality. The breakfast is so well done with something for everyone. We have stayed here many times and return again and again. The rooms are spacious and well done. The staff is wonderful….Kim, Marvin, Susan….and many more do everything to make us feel welcomed. We promise you will just love it!

I am a former chef and am now a catering director at a private country club. Being extremely picky and wanting the best possible accommodations and food - we were nothing but happy with French Quarter Inn!

My wife and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn on a Monday and Tuesday evening. As our second visit to Charleston, we wanted to enjoy the Battery area history and restaurants for a couple days. French Quarter Inn was fantastic! The staff really set the stage for a memorable and rejuvenating visit. Charleston really is a unique and wonderful city, and I highly recommend the French Quarter Inn for helping us take a little of Charleston with us.
