French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

As a discriminating traveler, this is a hotel that places a high priority on service. Yes, I've stayed at more luxurious hotels, more beautiful hotels but very few that have such attention to service. Not overt, "trying too hard" service but relaxed, natural service from well trained people who anticipate and care about the hotel experience. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, great central location, great cocktail and breakfast and turn down amenity; just an excellent experience in every way. Highly recommend this lovely little Inn

My significant other and I visited Charleston, SC during spring break and chose the French Quarter Inn to stay. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish and made our stay a memorable one. We were greeted by the concierge Brandi upon arrival whose southern hospitality really shined. She provided us with everything we needed to check in as well as two glasses of champagne. When we got to our room, we had chocolate sweets waiting for us which complimented our drinks. The room was spectacular with it's French flair and was quite larger than expected. We stayed on the third floor with a king size bed with no balcony. It was perfect as it had all the emmenities one would need. Housekeeping was wonderful and very pleasant and anything we requested they complied. It was quiet at night although my significant other heard the morning trash pick up which was news to me. Don't let that deter you from staying here. Every morning we were greeted downstairs with a continental breakfast. We enjoyed the croissants and homemade banana bread. I imagined the breakfast being much grander for this Inn, but it was nicely done and satisfied our appetite. What we really enjoyed was the evening wine, crackers, meat, and cheeses served after a long days walk. It was very refreshing especially the water with the fresh fruit in it. Then, as a night cap, homemade cookies, tarts, and milk or coffee/tea was served. Every day the concierges answered all of our questions and were more than glad to make any reservations for us. When leaving the Inn, the bellman always opened the door with a smile and wished us off for the day. Overall, the French Quarter Inn is Charleston at it's finest. There's plenty of places to stay in such a well sought out place to visit, but you won't leave feeling disappointed staying here. The French Quarter Inn with its southern hospitality will make you feel right at home.

We were greeted by Jenny with a welcome glass of champagne. Early arrival was no problem for Glori. She was more than happy to accommodate us. After we were settled in, we went downstairs to borrow the Inn's bikes. Taylor was there to greet us and get us fitted for the appropriate bike. He was so filled with information on things to see and great places to eat. When we arrived back at 5:30, the wine and appies were just starting. A wonderful display of food and wine for all to enjoy. At 8:30 in the evening you will see another display of cookies and milk with port wine for the adults. The following morning was our first complimentary breakfast with them and there were many choices for all to enjoy . French Quarter was a wonderful choice and I would definitely return as well as send friends and family !

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with exceptional service. This hotel is a gem, from the rooms, to the hospitality of every staff member and the daily wine and cheese tasting, we truly had a wonderful experience. My kudos to the management team for the way they train their staff, or does it just come naturally to Marvin, Alexander, Brandi and the others? I truly cannot say enough, oh and our room was clean, large, well lit and comfortable. We cannot wait to return.

I have stayed at this Inn twice now as it has become my favorite place to stay in Charleston. Southern Hospitality means everything is exquisite, but the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. That's exactly what you get at this Inn. The staff is always smiling and eager to accommodate any request. Glori, at the front desk, is just delightful. She is professional, friendly, and went out of her way to make sure our accommodations were comfortable for our family. Every time I saw her during our stay she remembered my name and greeted me with a smile. After a long day of shopping and touring, it truly felt like coming "home" when we entered the lobby. If you want to experience true Southern Hospitality in the heart of Charleston, this is your place. And I am picky.
