French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

For over a decade, the French Quarter Inn in historic Charleston, South Carolina has been indulging guests with its regal accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and superb service. A 2014 Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Gold List recipient and a AAA Four-Diamond destination, the inn enjoys an envious central location in the heart of historic Charleston. With its timeless elegance, rooms - both private and public - are appointed in French urban décor coupled with Parisian blue accents and warm wood furnishings. Oversize guest rooms and suites appear even larger with expansive 14-foot ceilings. Behind guest doors are plush sanctuaries with triple-sheeted beds, recently renovated baths, and in some cases, working fireplaces and private balconies. The sound-sleep pillow menu and turndown service ensures a restful slumber.

Amenities seem almost too good to be true with complimentary champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, daily afternoon wine and cheese, fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evening, a gourmet continental breakfast served in your room or in one of the public areas, and 24-hour coffee service. Within walking distance are a number of fabulous restaurants, including the hotel's very own Tristan. With its urbane décor of hardwood floors, a whimsical banquette, and minimal appointments, Tristan offers a decidedly bold American fare menu for brunch, lunch or dinner plus an astounding 400-label wine cellar. Take a stroll along the city's cobblestone streets following your fine meal, enjoy a tour of an antebellum home, share a frothy cappuccino near the waterfront, or prowl through the shops on premises. There are also several enjoyable city tours that paint a fascinating picture of Charleston's centuries-old history.

Quiet, intimate and geared toward friendly service. Elegant and first class without being snooty. Great location as well. Spend a few more dollars for a luxury suite and you will not regret it. Parking cost may seem high but if you check the costs of nearby garages and consider the convenience of the valet, it isn't out of line.

The French Quarter Inn is a gem starting with the champagne welcome and ending with the most comfortable room experience. In between we experienced superior and friendly service from bell staff, front desk staff, food providers and housekeeping. Your every need is anticipated and provided without asking. The free breakfast is outstandingly delicious and expansive. You can request free room delivery but why would you when you can dine in their lovely expansive areas or on the quiet beautiful outdoor patio. The evening wine, refreshments and snacks - awesome! Then if you haven't been pampered enough, you are provided evening cookies and milk. We booked a deluxe king room and it was - bed divine, immaculate, expansive bath and lots of towels. If possible, don't consider staying elsewhere in Charleston. The French Quarter is a wonderful experience all around.

Where can a person stay these days and really feel taken care of, feel welcomed and offered gracious hospitality...look no further than French Quarter Inn. Attentive and courteous valets, beautiful and welcoming reception area. Champagne upon check in. And, if you arrive a bit before your room is ready; there are wonderful choices of cooling beverages, and an uncrowded, quiet, comfortable, large reception area. French Quarter in has hospitality beyond anything I have experienced from a hotel in a long while. Hot and cold beverages all day, M & M's and jelly beans, a wine and cheese reception (which we always seemed to miss, however, the reception staff was always happy to provide us a very generous pour of wine), and a fabulous milk, port and cookie bar in the evening (which my husband never missed - LOL). We took our milk and cookies outside to relax on the cool patio and enjoy the beautiful lights, plants and fountain. Our room was so well appointed, not a detail overlooked. Comfortable, luxurious bedding, refrigerator, a nice sofa, two oversized chairs, and a lovely desk by the terrace. A large bathroom, plenty of space for clothing, and a nice soft bench by the front door to drop off backpacks, bags, hats, and items needed for the next excursion out. Turn down service included nightly chocolates, extra towels, small lamps turned on, ice bucket filled, bottles of water, and robes laid out on turned down beds. Each guest has a choice of breakfast delivered to their room or there is a generous breakfast available in the reception area. Another thoughtful touch is a coffee cart available just down the hall if one was in need of a cup before breakfast arrived. Also, it was so convenient to be able to fill up our coffee mugs and water bottles every morning before leaving for that days adventures.Helpful suggestions of places to eat (thank you for suggesting the High Cotton restaurant for Sunday Brunch. Live Banjo music was incredible as was our brunch). Nothing was too much trouble. Just a thank you to all the staff at French Quarter Inn for making our stay so memorable, seamless, relaxing and fun. Next time we are in Charleston, this will be our go to place.

We stayed at the French Quarter Inn with our friends from Georgia. We were greeted at reception with a fabulous glass of champagne and a warm welcome. They serve tea, lemonade, and infused water all day. Our room was on the 3rd floor and it was highly appointed. They serve a wonderful breakfast in the lobby every morning, and if you don't feel like coming down they will bring it to you. Who does that? And did I mention, it's all included? There is a wonderful cheese and wine happy hour daily from 5:30-6:30. Anice does such a wonderful job of making you feel right at home. She was so cheerful and always smiling. She always made a point to greet us by name. We felt as if we had known her forever. In the evening, they put out freshly baked cookies, milk, and port. Again, I have never stayed anywhere that included so many great amenities. If you are looking for warm southern hospitality, look no further. This was our first stay here and it won't be the last. We loved it!

Omg is all I need to say. If you have any doubts this is the place to stay. You can't beat the ideal location on Market St. you can walk to a ton of places for food drinks or shopping. The hotel staff was magnificent making you feel very pampered. This is the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Love the nightly events wine and cheese and then later cookies milk and port. Champagne on arrival was a nice touch. Love the breakfast. We stayed on the 2nd floor which has a small balcony area at the center for those who want to sit outside or smoke. Turn down service was nice but best of all coffee and tea in the hall upstairs so you don't have to go down and get it. Whenever I come back it will be to this hotel! We paid for the valet parking and they were very prompt retrieving the car. The beds and pillows excellent. I could go on and on.
