HarbourView Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

Situated in one of America's most enticing cities and surrounded by volumes of history, the HarbourView Inn overlooks the bustling waterfront of Charleston, South Carolina. Boasting AAA Four-Diamond status and a Gold List award from the editors of Condé Nast Traveler, guests of this enchanting retreat can bask in the glorious appointments that recall the city's early years as a nautical trading hub with the Caribbean colonies. Rooms are a mix of Old-World wonders and haute appointments with fine antiques positioned beneath plasma-screen televisions. Hunker down in a room with arched windows and exposed brick walls or request a penthouse chamber with working fireplace, a mini bar stocked with complimentary refreshments, and a Juliette-style balcony overlooking the harbor.

Southern hospitality is contagious within the inn's confines. Amenities include complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon followed by fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evenings. Added conveniences such as their silver service breakfast - delivered to your room, on the rooftop terrace or presented in the magnificent atrium lobby - are to be expected. It is likely you will want to explore the genteel cobblestone streets of Charleston, the city where Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara honeymooned. The inn even offers complimentary historic walking tours, but you may not need a guide at all. Located within walking distance to Waterfront Park, the famous city market, several wonderful restaurants, a bevy of boutiques and antique row, the HarbourView Inn allows guests to explore with ease. As for those storybook antebellum homes, they too are plentiful, and many are open for the public to tour.

The Harbourview Inn is in the perfect location in the Historic District. We had an amazing view of the park, pier, fountain and Charleston Harbour from our beautiful veranda. Our room was lovely and immaculate. You can easily walk anywhere in Historic Charleston from The Harbourview. We didn't need a car because we were y able to arrange tours and transportation to the Plantations, Patriots Point, Sullivan's Island etc. from the hotel. The included breakfast and snacks were much more wonderful than we expected. The staff was amazing cheerfully answering all of our questions and taking care of our every need. We are travel agents and have traveled extensively. The Harbourview is one of the most wonderful hotels we have ever stayed in. It is PERFECT in every way. You will love your stay at the Harbourview Inn !!! A special thanks to all of the staff. We interacted the most with Jaria, Megan, Drew, Jackson and Rosie....all deserve a big thank you for making our stay perfect and memorable. Hugs to you all !

The room was so beautiful and extremely comfortable, we had a balcony view of the fountain and it was very nice to look outside. The location was perfect, close to great restaurant and shopping. We had complimentary cheese and wine at 5pm, cookies and delicious fresh baked cookies at 9pm. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and with a decent menu and big variety to order from. All in all, this was truly a great vacation for us, we will be back again next year.

This hotel is pricey. We spent three nights in a king water-view room. Breakfast is included and was served in our room. Your order is placed the night before. We endured three days of thunder storms and pouring rain Some of the downtown streets were closed due to flooding. But we really enjoyed this hotel - great location - cookies and milk before bed - afternoon tea and other amenities. And- they have Tempur-pedic beds!

The Harborview Inn is located at the perfect place!! It is right at Waterfront Park!! Our room was very clean and had an amazing view!! The Inn also has an awesome rooftop deck (open 24 hours) with a bar (open 4-8pm). Breakfast is included! You fill out a card the night before, with your food and beverage choices and where you would like to have it delivered (3 choices - room, rooftop, or atrium)!! Also included with your stay is red and white wines, assorted cheeses, and grapes every day (5-6pm) in the atrium AND freshly baked cookies and milk every night (9-10pm) in the lobby!! Those 2 things were amazing!! We never got dessert out, as we looked forward to the delicious cookies each night!! And if you like M&M's, they have a dispenser (with plain and peanut) at your disposal, free, all the time! The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable!!! They also have free wifi and free bikes that you can use. They also have turn down service, which was great! You come back to a peaceful room with the curtains closed, classical music on, little chocolates, and the covers turned down. When I booked the room, I let them know that it was our 10th anniversary and when we arrived, they had a bottle of champagne waiting in our room for us!! Really nice touch!! Everyone who works there was very nice and helpful. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is the shower head and water pressure. I like a lot of pressure and this was a light rainforest type shower head that you could not adjust. They do have a separate hand held one with harder pressure, but I didn't like it. So, overall, I am extremely glad we chose to stay here!! It is on the expensive side, but totally worth it!! The value for your money is excellent!!

Stayed in 4th floor King Room for a week: spacious, quiet, well-serviced and comfortable. Complimentary cocktail Punch was refreshing. Afternoon wine tasting with cheese and fruit was nice, as was the 24 hour coffee/tea service in the atrium. Room Service staff (Breakfast only) and House Staff were attentive, polite, helpful and always pleasant. Valet parking was easy. Convenient to walk to restaurants - landmarks/churches, Market Street and even King Street shopping area is within reach. City is very walkable. Cookies, fruit-infused water, and peanut M&Ms in the lobby were among the small touches that made it a nice stay.
