HarbourView Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

Situated in one of America's most enticing cities and surrounded by volumes of history, the HarbourView Inn overlooks the bustling waterfront of Charleston, South Carolina. Boasting AAA Four-Diamond status and a Gold List award from the editors of Condé Nast Traveler, guests of this enchanting retreat can bask in the glorious appointments that recall the city's early years as a nautical trading hub with the Caribbean colonies. Rooms are a mix of Old-World wonders and haute appointments with fine antiques positioned beneath plasma-screen televisions. Hunker down in a room with arched windows and exposed brick walls or request a penthouse chamber with working fireplace, a mini bar stocked with complimentary refreshments, and a Juliette-style balcony overlooking the harbor.

Southern hospitality is contagious within the inn's confines. Amenities include complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon followed by fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evenings. Added conveniences such as their silver service breakfast - delivered to your room, on the rooftop terrace or presented in the magnificent atrium lobby - are to be expected. It is likely you will want to explore the genteel cobblestone streets of Charleston, the city where Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara honeymooned. The inn even offers complimentary historic walking tours, but you may not need a guide at all. Located within walking distance to Waterfront Park, the famous city market, several wonderful restaurants, a bevy of boutiques and antique row, the HarbourView Inn allows guests to explore with ease. As for those storybook antebellum homes, they too are plentiful, and many are open for the public to tour.

The Hotel is situated close to the water..and indeed close to everything of interest in Charleston,Museums ,market and all the restaurants with all the food you could possible wish for..The Room was Comfy, the staff pleasant and helpful, as an aside you know you are getting old when you let a young lady member of staff carry the two suitcases up the flight of steps while strolling casually in her wake with no feeling of guilt or embarrassment whatsoever.. Its a Nice will enjoy your stay there..

My hubby and I chose Harbourview Inn because of its location, but were treated to far more than just a beautiful location. The accommodations were lovely and very comfortable and after quite a bit of driving, we were able to truly relax in our room. The staff, from Mark to Andrew and AJ, were extremely accommodating and they took the time to make us feel at home.

What a wonderful time! A perfect place to celebrate my mother’s birthday in Charleston! Our favorite was the selection of flavored water, options for coffee, and the view from our terrace overlooking the water.

We planned our Charleston mini trip with a stay at a sister property (The Elliott House) which we love. They however had renovations delayed and moved us ( at not extra charge) over to Harbourview Inn. While we did miss the "ambience" of the Elliott House we were thrilled to experience this Inn. All staff are simply 100% engaged. Don't know how you do it. Beautiful location at Cooper River, so much to see, and easy walking really to all popular places of interest. So many other nice and unusual touches, like... afternoon tea, a very nice wine and cheese reception at 5pm, milk and cookies at 9pm, turn down service, followed in the morning by a beautfiul plentiful breakfast served to your room, or you can have it outside or in their atrium. This is "the" place to stay. Special thanks to Belle at front desk who was kind enough to print out a report we needed printed, we appreciated it very much.

We took at group of university students to Charleston in January for a history weekend. The staff was incredible! Mike Wilson, who is the Front Office Supervisor, could not have been better to work with. He took care of every detail, and was extremely flexible when we had a few last minute changes. I cannot praise him enough!
