HarbourView Inn in Charleston, South Carolina

Situated in one of America's most enticing cities and surrounded by volumes of history, the HarbourView Inn overlooks the bustling waterfront of Charleston, South Carolina. Boasting AAA Four-Diamond status and a Gold List award from the editors of Condé Nast Traveler, guests of this enchanting retreat can bask in the glorious appointments that recall the city's early years as a nautical trading hub with the Caribbean colonies. Rooms are a mix of Old-World wonders and haute appointments with fine antiques positioned beneath plasma-screen televisions. Hunker down in a room with arched windows and exposed brick walls or request a penthouse chamber with working fireplace, a mini bar stocked with complimentary refreshments, and a Juliette-style balcony overlooking the harbor.

Southern hospitality is contagious within the inn's confines. Amenities include complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon followed by fresh-baked cookies and milk in the evenings. Added conveniences such as their silver service breakfast - delivered to your room, on the rooftop terrace or presented in the magnificent atrium lobby - are to be expected. It is likely you will want to explore the genteel cobblestone streets of Charleston, the city where Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara honeymooned. The inn even offers complimentary historic walking tours, but you may not need a guide at all. Located within walking distance to Waterfront Park, the famous city market, several wonderful restaurants, a bevy of boutiques and antique row, the HarbourView Inn allows guests to explore with ease. As for those storybook antebellum homes, they too are plentiful, and many are open for the public to tour.

Honestly...we landed here because a number of other places where booked which made this an even more pleasant surprise. We stayed in the historic wing and the room was spacious and beautiful. All the little touches were so appreciated like big, soft bath towels and super comfortable beds and linens. And please don't skip over the welcome cocktail which was delicious! The staff could not have been more friendly or gracious. The complimentary breakfast was nice and appreciated tho in a foodie town like Charleston there were better options. This was well located and convenient to so many restaurants, bars and shopping. Its a bit of a hike to King Street if you are there for the shopping but you can always Uber if you don't want to walk. There are a lot of well know restaurants within a few blocks and again, a short cab to the newer hip spots on King. Highly recommend.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at The Harbourview Inn. From start to finish it was a great experience. We had requested an early check-in and the hotel honored it when we arrived in Charleston. We were able to get into our room, change into clothing that matched the beautiful warm weather. The hotel is located across the street from Waterfront Park which gave a beautiful view of the harbor. It was a short walk to the City Market and many of the fabulous restaurants. We were actually able to walk to every attraction we wanted to see so the location was perfect. Our room was clean and the accommodations were very nice. The bathroom was spotless which is very important to me. The bed was so comfortable and the hotel wasn't noisy at all so no trouble sleeping. Breakfast was provided every morning and it could be delivered to your room, to the rooftop area or an area off the lobby. The selection for breakfast foods was wide and the coffee was delicious! Very convenient to have this service so we could eat when we wanted and then head out to start our day. Everyone we met, from the bell men to the front desk staff to the housekeeping people were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. This was our first trip to Charleston and we will definitely be back. We will look forward to another stay at The Harbourview Inn. Highly recommend this hotel.

Loved every minute we were there! From the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more accommodating. It is right in the heart of the downtown are. The only thing better was the view. I would highly recommend the HarborView Inn.

My husband and I booked Harbourview Inn for a few nights at the end of March. It was perfect! The location was better than I expected. It was less than 2 blocks from all of the action, yet right across a quiet street from a park overlooking the water. The staff was outstanding! They have a free wine/cheese reception in the early evening and a bar on the rooftop. The staff is always willing to help - Bernadett was our favorite. She brought us breakfast to the rooftop every morning with her bright and cheery attitude. The bartender even recommended his favorite spot for happy hour, which ended up being one of our favorite restaurants of the whole trip. We never would have found it and would've ended up at the touristy spot down the street. Can't say enough great things about the room and staff! Thanks for making our stay so wonderful!

My wife and I have stayed in several of the high end hotels in Charleston and the Harbourview is our favorite. Great location, very nice rooms and staff like Mack the night auditor (who got me fresh coffee at 4:30 am while I was catching up on some work) make this a great place to stay.
