Reviews for The Vendue

Excellent overall experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We just finished our stay (February 8 - 12, - 2026) at The Vendue. This time of year, is considered off season. Weather varied from mid 4Os to 65 degrees or so. Both perfect for us All 3 of the hotels I looked at had good reviews / proximity to the waterfront park, historic area, downtown areas. I chose The Vendue because of its uniqueness. Literally an art gallery boutique hotel. The hotel lobby is full of very cool contemporary artwork (see the website). Lobby music was very cool as well. The hallways on each floor have the similar cool artwork. Our room was very clean and spacious (2 queen beds). Walk in shower. The hotel lobby staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall, the I found the service to be excellent. I definitely give this hotel 5 stars for everything during our visit to Charleston. Stayed at many hotels over the years and only gave 5 stars to one other hotel. We are picky. A couple of cool intangibles: Love the fact The Vendue was a smaller boutique hotel (with a very unique style). First morning of our stay I received a hotel text asking how everything was so far. Don’t know if it was because hotel was not busy yet or standard guest procedure. Regardless of it made us feel management cared. We were greeted with glasses of champagne upon arrival There wasn’t any continental breakfast in the AM, but we did not really need one. (for us anyway). Each morning there was a “breakfast bag” attached to our door consisting of some muffins / croissants/ banana and apple. Nice touch, fine for us in the AM. Coffee / Tea in the lobby in the AM Water bottles in the room (complimentary) Safe deposit box in our room Staff was very helpful in picking restaurants and guiding us with a map with suggestions as to what to see in the area. Around 9pm…good fresh cookies in the lobby. (nice touch) I highly recommend The Vendue if you like this unique style of boutique hotel as well as overall excellent service. Again, centrally located to most locations for touring, shopping and dining Recommend going during off season if one does not like crowds. Weather was mild and comfortable for us.

Bedbugs

Bedbugs. I sent pictures to the hotel with many bites, hotel respond led saying they will get an inspection. Beware! They have not provided any help to make sure i don't bring them to my home, no reimbursement, unclear if they are taking the infestation seriously.

Beautiful Hotel- Excellent Location-Stellar Customer Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I had a wonderful stay at The Enclave Charleston and would absolutely stay here again. The location is unbeatable. It’s steps from the park and the famous Pineapple Fountain, right near Magnolia Restaurant (which was phenomenal), and just minutes from City Market, Rainbow Row, and shopping on King Street. Everything I wanted to do was within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is modern, beautiful, and spotless. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout my stay. What truly sets The Enclave apart, though, is the staff. I’ve stayed at luxury properties like the Waldorf Astoria in NYC and the Ritz, and I can honestly say I did not receive the level of personalized, thoughtful service there that I experienced here. The team checks in via text to make sure everything is perfect, and the turndown service — complete with cookies and a fresh bag of ice — was such a thoughtful touch. It’s very clear that they genuinely care about providing a top-tier guest experience. I stayed from December 22–26, and every single employee I encountered went above and beyond. A special thank you to Tiana, who literally walked to another hotel to retrieve bandages for me when I desperately needed them. That level of care is rare. My only minor complaints are related to noise. The walls are thin, and as a very light sleeper, I could hear my neighbor snoring quite loudly, which made it difficult to sleep. My room was on the bottom floor, so there was also some noise from the wooden staircase and foot traffic, along with the sound of water dripping throughout the night, likely from pipes in the wall. The water pressure was also a bit on the lower side. The staff did kindly offer to move me, but I chose to stay put rather than inconvenience them. Despite those small issues, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. The location, cleanliness, safety, and especially the exceptional staff make The Enclave a standout in Charleston. I highly recommend it and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great location and comfortable rooms

Great location in central Charleston. Easy walking to the main sites in town. Hotel was clean and comfortable. In room Keurig is nice but the morning breakfast box was a little sad with cold pastry and fruit that was a little beat up. Rooms are large and have plenty of space

Stunning short break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

After an initial hiccup with a delay to us accessing our room, with appropriate apologies, the rest of our stay at this hotel was amazing. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and super helpful. The hotel is incredible, with amazing art on the walls, and a wonderful rooftop bar. It is located ideally for exploring and though my wife has reduced mobility, we found it easy to get around. Would definitely recommend and don’t miss having a glass of champagne in the evening.
