What a perfect location for this boutique hotel. It’s just steps from the harbor and pineapple fountain, plenty of great restaurants nearby (SNoB, Magnolia’s, Carmella’s) and just blocks away from King Street. Nice touches include champagne upon arrival, bagged breakfast in the morning with mini croissants, blueberry and corn muffins, jam, apple and a banana. A glass of wine early evening, and cookies and milk are offered 9pm nightly (red velvet or at the sister property Enclave across the street has chocolate chip). We used the complimentary bikes one day, another bonus. It has interesting artwork all on the first floor with no check in desk. A hotel staff member greets you at the door with an iPad to check you in. There’s a rooftop lounge offering a full service bar and food. We were given vouchers for drinks which was nice but I’m sure it was built into our destination fee. The room rate is a bit pricey but compared to many other properties in Charleston, it offers many touches that I mentioned earlier that others don’t provide. The room decor is fun like the lobby. It does not have a refrigerator but there is plenty of space for storing your clothes. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was just right. My one suggestion is to change the area rug in room 308. It looks worn. All the staff are well trained and courteous. Every single person greeted us - housekeeper, doorman, bartender, manager, check in clerk, concierge. Will return.

Amazing hotel! Perfect location near the water. Quiet with spacious rooms, a young and helpful staff, bikes to borrow, breakfast bag each morning and a sip at night. Rooftop is world class. We loved it! Oh, the art collection adds a lot to the vibe.

I eagerly and excitedly write this review for The Vendue. My journey with this hotel actually began back in September, but hurricanes delayed my trip. I was finally able to reschedule my stay, and all I can say is that my experience at this hotel was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. In fact, it should be noted that I am an avid traveler who frequents luxury hotels (mostly in Europe), and I can honestly assert that this is one of the top hotel experiences I have EVER had! Let’s talk details now! Service: The service was IMPECCABLE from the first email confirmation, to the welcome drink upon check-in, to the kind valet men who always ensured I had a “good” bike and a cold bottle of water for my daily rides around town, to Noah loading my bags into my Uber. I cannot emphasize this enough: I have never felt so well-cared for at a hotel; NO request was ever made to feel like it was “too much,”and every accommodation was met with a smile—instantly putting my mind at ease over things that other hotels in the past have made me worry about. With that, I must give a shoutout to Noah, Nicholas, Cameron, and Sarah—all of whom made my stay extra special. Communication: The staff excelled with keeping up communication. I enjoyed the ease of their text system, and replies were always timely. This was an excellent way to help me as a guest feel supported and looked after with genuine, attentive care. The room: My room was impeccably designed with pops of bold red accents and the cutest details like brass hands “holding” my window curtains. Returning to my fireplace on chilly nights was always a treat. The rain shower had perfect water pressure. The soaps—bamboo lemongrass scented! —were luxurious and soothing. The bed was very comfortable with crisp linens and plush pillows. There was ample storage space with thoughtfully-designed closet and drawer areas. The turn-down service of ice and macarons was also an excellent touch each evening. My breakfast accommodation was beyond impressive, and one of the “little” details that, for my specific dietary needs, meant the most to me. The lobby: I adored the lobby—a true art gallery with unique and vivid works of art at every corner. Evening wine hours, art tours, and milk/cookies were inviting ways to bring me back to the lobby again and again! The Thursday evening art trivia event was also a fun way to engage with the art theme the hotel executes so well. The rooftop: I enjoyed the rooftop several times throughout my stay. Kjersten is an absolute gem. She always treated me very well with attention and care—again normalizing my requests and dietary accommodations with ease. The gentlemen who bring the food to your table were always so gracious to take my picture among the gorgeous steeples of the Holy City. The Enclave: Though I stayed at the main Vendue building, I would be remiss if I did not talk about the sister-building (The Enclave) located right across the street. While The Vendue (proper) has a very modern vibe, The Enclave’s vibe was more of an urban/artsy atmosphere with exposed brick and bold pops of yellow accents throughout. The Enclave also has a separate art gallery that was equally a feast for the eyes. As an added bonus, you can watch the artists working at both buildings! The Location: The Vendue’s position in the city cannot be beat. It is within walking distance from the most charming of sites like Rainbow Row, the Charleston Market, and the Pineapple Fountain. Restaurants and coffee shops are a stone’s throw away, too. The best part (in my opinion) was The Vendue’s proximity to the water. My mornings were easily able to begin with the most perfect sunrise just steps away from the hotel. In sum, I am wholeheartedly grateful for the time I spent at The Vendue. Dear Vendue staff, keep up the high standards and friendly hospitality—these details do NOT go unnoticed. Please also promise me you’ll always have a room for me here, as I very much look forward to returning sooner rather than later. Sincerely, “Eggs” :-)

Hotel is in a great location and the staff were amazing. The room we had was excellent. However, there is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms so just FYI.
