The Vendue

Just returned from a long weekend in Charleston and the highlight may have been this hotel. We booked the Vendue based on its location and the interesting art vibe and it really surpassed our expectations. We were dropped off by Uber and before we went too far we were met on the sidewalk by two Vendue staff who quickly confirmed our reservations and took our luggage, guiding us to the hotel entrance. There, a friendly woman invited us to relax and enjoy a glass of wine while she checked us in. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming and our room was quickly ready for us. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The double shower was roomy with good water pressure. They had a handheld steamer which I find more useful than an iron. Every morning, a bag with a complimentary continental breakfast was hung on our door which was so appreciated. I can appreciate art but am far from an expert in it. But the Vendue had so many unique pieces that I definitely wanted to experience their daily art tour. Complimentary wine and a friendly guide took us through the Vendue’s collection which was quite enjoyable. The rooftop bar had great views and vibes. Mika the bartender is absolutely awesome. Knowledgeable and friendly, she treats you instantly like an old friend. The location of the hotel is perfect but truly the best part of the Vendue was its people. I wish I was better with names so I could list them here because they all really should be recognized for their hospitality. We will be back to visit Charleston. When we do, we will definitely stay at the Vendue.

This was the perfect hotel for a romantic weekend in Charleston. Close to all the best places to eat and historic sights. The rooms were perfect and the staff were attentive. This place is a great value for the perfect rooms and attentive staff. It’s a fun place in a fun city, we’ll be back for sure.

We stayed at the “The Enclave section” across the street from the main hotel in the penthouse room 350. Keep in mind there is no elevator access.

Vendue Staff were helpful and accommodating. Gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do around town. The cookies at night are were delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here and plan to stay here again if we come back to Charleston.
