The Vendue is southern hospitality personified. We had a wonderful stay here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There are so many notable things about this property - the location is great, the décor is beautiful, the artwork on display is outstanding and the staff is absolutely top notch. There are so many lovely details, all of which added up to make you feel so comfortable and welcome. There is fruit infused ice water always available in the lobby, a wine and hors d'oeuvres hour in the evening, along with an art tour of the property led by the resident art director, milk and warm chocolate chip cookies at 9:00 pm and a turn down service that includes a little box of truffles by your pillow. I could go on and on about the attention to detail at this property, but by far, the most outstanding element is the staff - namely the Front Desk Manager, Mr. Nathan Robison. After we checked in and were shown to our room, Nathan called up to make sure we were pleased with it and my husband explained that we were expecting a larger room with a bit more space. (Since this is an historic property, no two rooms are the same and we had booked a deluxe queen.) Nathan quickly offered to show us a different room downstairs and we were able to move to a much larger and more comfortable room for a rate only slightly more than we originally reserved. I will not soon forget his kindness and genuine concern for our comfort and satisfaction. Given that we had just taken our only child to college, we needed the time away to relax and adjust to this big change in our lives, and Nathan's understanding and caring attitude helped make our trip perfect! I would highly recommend The Vendue and we hope to be back soon.

We agree with all the great reviews in regards to the hotel and its staff. Beautiful surroundings, very attentive service, and great location - within walking distance to most attractions! We even extended our original booking, adding another day, because we were enjoying our time in Charleston. Our wonderful trip ended on a sour note due to the condition of our vehicle upon its return to us by the hotel's valet service. Our car had been detailed immediately prior to our trip, but when the car was returned to us, the entire rear half of the car was covered with some sort of black spots which were obvious on the car's white finish. I notified the hotel of our concern, including photos, but at present we have had no response. I'm hopeful that the black mess will wash off without any permanent damage. I'm not sure where our car was parked for 3 days, but it obviously was not returned in the same condition that it was when the valet parked it. At $22 per day for valet parking, we feel that our dollars were not well spent! Still waiting for a response from the hotel, but I'm not going to hold my breath until I get a reply!

We stayed in a corner room on the second floor. Very well appointed with spectacular art both in the room and the halls. Kept stopping to look more closely at works throughout the hotel. Roof bar is the best.

We got a terrific deal on a room for one night and we're not disappointed. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Small room but clean and lovely. Nice touches in the room. The decor is Art Deco and there is a Starbucks attached to the registration which is a big plus.

When we were checking in, the first thing they ask is how our trip was. Followed up with would you like a glass of champagne. Check in was quick even though there were several guests checking in at the same time. The Concierge took us around the property and made sure that we knew where everything was as our bags were being take to our room. The room was very nice. Filled with period antique furniture. They had a decanter filled with bottomless sherry on the dresser. This is an art hotel, so we had a great time walking around and checking out the art. There were several pieces that were interactive which made it fun. There is also a resident artist on site that works on paintings in his studio during the day. I highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Charleston. The location is in the heart of the historic district and sits next to Charleston Harbor. BEAUTIFUL!
