I surprised my wife with a 2 night stay here. We were suppose to go the day hurricane Irma was striking. They allowed us to push it back. We came down the next day and everything was normal the staff was there for any questions and needs. We will using them in the future.

Ed welcomed us for check-in with a glass of champagne, such a nice touch. He made conversation, provided the lay of the land, and called us by name every time he saw us. The Vendue couldn't have selected a better "first impression" for guests - Ed is quite memorable and was part of several conversations we had. The hotel is beautiful, with very intriguing art pieces in every corner. We missed seeing the artist in residency but appreciated his/her work. The rooms are warm - loved the brick walls. And the location is perfect, basically a nice half-mile walk to most anything you want to see and experience downtown. We had to check out early due to the approaching hurricane. The Vendue was very fair about charges - in other words, no extra charges for checking out early...will definitely be returning. Big thanks to all at the Vendue.... and especially to Ed! (Ed can even speak to his French visitors - multi-lingual!)

This is a great place to stay. Great feel of Charleston. Leave the car and forget it. You can walk anywhere. Not a big hotel ... it is a historic inn ... make sure to cross the street for a roof top bar that over looks the harbor.

We were on the road evacuating from Hurricane Irma, and we booked the Vendue online without much knowledge about it. We're well traveled and very picky about hotels, but we were just hoping for a clean decent place to stay as we were on the move fast....We were WOW'ed! We can't say enough good things about this hotel. The Vendue has been so welcoming, and kind. Their drawing room was the only restaurant open during the storm, and even though they were short staffed, they did an incredible job. They made special kids meals for our children, and the regular dinner was delicious! Even though many staff couldn't make it in to work because of flooding, the art curator and the GM were pitching into wait tables and check guests in because they knew their guests would be hungry and tired! Their staff has gone above and beyond from the front desk check in to the housekeeping staff, and the waiters. The rooms are beautiful, and the extra touches are everywhere- they serve champagne during check in, they provide sherry in each room and cookies and milk each night, plus they have complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres in the gallery and art tours daily, and their dining is incredible. My children and my husband and I have loved seeing all the art work. Their curator is doing a fabulous job of making certain that the art is beautiful, but approachable. So many of the pieces were beautiful and fun! I feel like the Vendue enhanced our taste, and welcomed us. We'll be back for sure, and we will tell everyone we know to stay here.
