Reviews for The Vendue
Stayed here during recent Garden & Gun Jubilee. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic staff. Staff very helpful with places to dine and quaint local shoppes. Perfect location to see beautiful Charleston. Can’t wait to return.
the woman checking us in was flustered and misplaced our room keys (which are real metal keys) and the bellboy entertained us while she searched and then let us in with a master before they brought the keys to us 15 minutes later. I did find it interesting that the bellboy gave us most of the information about the amenities, wifi, etc. instead of the check-in staff. we rode the elevator with a complaining housekeeping supervisor with a head cold. freshly baked cookie time in the lobby was lackluster, art and wine hour also lackluster. the room was lavish, but poor water pressure in the shower. the roof top was cool but it was a freezing night so no one was there. free bike rentals are a nice touch, but my chain fell off twice while riding. this place tries too hard and misses the mark.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a premier king room, we were in room 250 across the street from the main building. We LOVED our room, bed was very comfortable and the decor with the fireplace was amazing. We enjoyed sipping on a beverage by the fire each night. We were greeted by Mark who is just awesome! He gave us complimentary bubbles and a very detailed tour of the hotel which is very rare. What a welcome, I was beaming from ear to ear. The art everywhere is so interesting and cool, we enjoyed walking around taking it all in. Mark asked us what brought us to town and it was our anniversary. He made a mental note because that evening a bottle of champagne arrived with a lovely note. We enjoyed the bar at the drawing room, very good service and drinks. We also enjoyed the rooftop one evening and during the day to take in some views and enjoy the sunshine. We are in our early 30's and we loved everything about our stay. I would stay here again in a moment. My only negative is the trash pick-up at 5:00am that woke us up. It only happened on Friday but. The room above us (350) was also very loud and we could hear them walking around one morning while we were still sleeping. Overall, an awesome stay with tons of details that made it so very memorable. You can walk just about everywhere from here which we did. Thank you Vendue Inn!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Vendue this past week. It was our first time and would definitely consider coming back due to the Hotel's location, friendly staff, and charming decor. We thought the staff was very friendly - from the lady giving us directions over the phone from the airport, to the onsite staff. No problems with our check-in and we appreciated the smiles and greetings we received from the check in area to the bellmen/valets. We love this location. So easy to walk to nearby sites including the waterfront, a bookstore, restaurants, the charming downtown market, and the little shops. I have to compliment the food and staff in the Drawing Room. Although we had plans to go to a list of restaurants around town, one rainy day kept us mostly inside so we enjoyed a delicious breakfast - Crab Benedict - and later a delicious dinner at the Hotel with a talented Jazz duo performing while we ate. We would go back to the Drawing Room again! The wait staff was friendly and helpful regarding the menu. I LOVED the fact that at a table next to us, another couple was having a deep conversation and their waiter stopped by and said "pardon my interruption..." THAT is good customer service. I can't stand when waiters just barge in and rudely interrupt your table to ask a question without even an "excuse me". On another note, if I had to give any negative, I would advise travelers to make sure they ask for a room away from where the trash trucks collect from the street very early in the morning. It is loud and will wake you. I'm glad I brought earplugs. When we go back, we will request another room location. We will come back!
