The inn is a very nice place. We stayed in the Evergreen room, which was quiet, had a lovely view, was clean, and had a fireplace, which was very nice to have and heated the room well. The inn is only a short drive to Mount Snow, so very convenient, but it is not really within walking distance of anything other than one restaurant (but not a safe walk in the dark). Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed the eve of our arrival, and the breakfast was served after we were planning on checking out. My complaint is that we didn't know about these hours until the week/day of our stay. The website states that the restaurant is not open every evening, but that if you're a guest of the hotel, you will be notified in plenty of time to plan your visit. We were never told until I called a couple days ahead of arrival to confirm our reservation. We had specifically booked the Deerfield Inn because of the onsite restaurant. We were renewing our wedding vows and wanted to have a night of celebration, which for us meant some champagne, so we didn't want one of us to have to be a designated driver. But that's exactly what happened. And then when we checked in, were told that breakfast was not available until 8:30am. We said we were planning to leave to ski at 8am. We were told they would try to accommodate us, to come downstairs at 8am, that they would have something for us. So we were disappointed again when we went to the dining/kitchen area at 8am, but no one was around. As we were leaving for the day at 8:20am (late start), we stopped by the dining room again, and they did quickly go to the kitchen and come out with a chocolate-chip muffin for each of us (which unfortunately neither one of us like--wow, I sound like a whiner, but it was very special trip for us). I don't think we'll return because even though I did relay our disappointment, there was no attempt at an apology or any semblance of accountability.

My wife and I decided on Friday afternoon that a weekend skiing at Mt. Snow would be a nice little getaway. So we booked one of only two available rooms for the weekend. I can't say enough good things about this place starting off with the proprietors, husband and wife Ariane and Scott. The attention to detail is second to none. There was always soothing music and a roaring fire to sit and relax by. Candles in the evening and afternoon tea. All of the public space was beautifully maintained, decorated and clean. Breakfast is delicious and the hosts could not do enough for us. We can't wait to go back again.

We stayed two nights in the Garden Suite and it was very enjoyable. It was excellent in every way - just the way B&Bs are meant to be - nice, cozy, comfortable accommodations; welcoming but unobtrusive hosts; plentiful and yummy breakfast. But the best part are the views! This inn sits on the hill overlooking Haystack mountain, I believe, and it’s just beautiful. Our suite was facing the mountains but if you are in one of the garden facing rooms, dining room has large picture windows so that you can take all that beauty in!

it's very comfy and romantic. This is one of the most romantic and comfy places my wife and I have been to. The view from the room is just amazing. we went in fall. that's the perfect season for this location. they serve food too which was delicious too. The inn keeper and other staff are very sophisticated, warm and friendly.
