Let me start by saying the rooms are nice. But when you buy 4 - 5 star you expect 4 - 5 star amenities and accommodations. The rooms are at best 3+ stars. However the main issue we had was the lack of customer service and total cluelessness of the staff. Our breakfast location changed every morning. We didn't find out there was a pool until the day we left. When you asked the staff the simplest of question there standard response was " I don't know, I'll have to ask". It's almost like they are selling the villa but doing a bait and switch to the other property when you arrive. Be weary when booking. I think you can find much better for much cheaper.

Best kept secret in Chianti. The staff was super friendly and the location is perfect for a quick getaway from the city of Florence. I come back and stay here in a heartbeat. I would recommend doing the wine tasting with the resident SOMM.

Debate came to the conclusions I must warn others of comments posted : Read the bad ones - and since we have been there twice and it's gotten worse it is worse still - and believe them - it's never worth the money they charge. Ad the good ones - invariably from South Africa - and you know these people have never been there!!! WIFI - a disaster as everywhere in Italy , so how can one guest say "great" if did not work know 2014 or 2016... and other guests lodging at the same time said the same...

We stayed in the Villa Mazzei, which although pleasant is not five star. So what is missing... coffee making facilities in the room and no where to grab an early morning coffee. The shower in our room didn't work. They 'fixed it'. It still didn't work. We moved rooms. Still no hot water and just a dribble. We removed the water saving device which helped. I also had to ask for the mould to be removed from the shower and bathroom, which they did quickly. Our clean dressing gowns disappeared one day, when we asked if they had more, it took them three hours to locate one - not two. In the end I suggested they try an empty room and see if any were there. Apart from the poor facilities generally, I really hate being lied to, we nick named the the 'hotel of the changing story'. Dinner was glorious but how can a Michelin restaurant not be able to scramble a couple of eggs for breakfast? Would I stay here again, probably, but with four star expectations.

Hired for post wedding party. BBQ/pool party. The views and atmosphere were amazing! Fun day all round. Staff were helpful. Food was nice. Didn't stay Iver but was told the rooms were spectacular. Just advise to book some taxi's.
