Service is incredible and food as well. It’s really close to Florence and to other vineyards. Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommended. I felt like I was at home. Everybody is very aware of your needs.

This is an extraordinary venue with fanatic views and lots of separate spaces. We were here for a wedding and then back the following day for a pool party. There's three separate main gardens and two pools. The only let down was the food which was far from impressive. Try to solve the riddle of why it's called Villa Eat Dog...

Villa Mangiacane is a stunning place and we would definitely give it an "excellent" rating rather than "very good", except mid-November was very much the end of the season for them and to be honest the hotel wasn't fully functioning. The setting is sublime, with views across to Florence (about 16km) and extensive gardens with masses of places to lounge. The main villa (much more splendid than the more spartan add-on, which houses the reception area and several bedrooms) is magnificent and the whole experience, at most times during the year, feels utterly decadent and luxurious. Lots of facilities, a top guy on reception and we would love to return when the whole place is up and running.

The vineyards are gorgeous and little villages nearby delightful. The villa and grounds are unique and beautiful, but as others mentioned most were off limits due to a large party having reserved the main villa. Food in the restaurant was delicious but seemed over priced to us. When the staff got busy with a large party our party of two was ignored. The hotel related services were good when requested, but not initiated without request. Nobody told us breakfast was included and our complimentary bottle of wine was forgotten until we asked for it. The room was nice, large, with comfy bed, and lovely views. Loved the big comfy robes!

We had a lovely stay in Villa Mangiacane for 4 nights as a short break after our wedding. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was great, very spacious with a large comfy bed and good quality hot shower - no complaints at all. The grounds are truly beautiful. We were able to walk around the whole grounds - vineyards, olive groves and Villa Machiavelli, which is absolutely amazing with the view of Florence from the upper terrace. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection included as a 'continental' breakfast and we ate in the restaurant one evening - the food was delicious but it lacked atmosphere as there was only one other table of diners, but the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful in choosing dishes and with wine pairings. It would have been nice to have been made aware of the spa facilities on the first day, even if these weren't available because the Villa Machiavelli was hired out. Superb location close to Florence and other beautiful Tuscan towns/villages, but a car is required. This is a very good 4* hotel...there are little things that would make the difference though, such as complimentary bottled water in the room each morning for example.
