Just off River Road, this dining experience is not to be missed. Great food and service, beautiful decor in the restaurant and throughout the property, wonderful sense of place. The spa is open to the public and is one of the best in the region.

The Farmhouse Inn surpassed our expectations in every regard. From the initial warm welcoming that Theresa extended to us, to the wonderful luxury of the room and grounds, our time in Sonoma was enhanced immeasurably by our stay here. The setting is quiet, romantic and revitalizing. Do yourself a wonderful favor and spend a few nights here.

Farmhouse Inn was the beacon of the end of our journey last Christmas. A stunning structure generously adorned with light and secluded enough from the main highway, it nestles quietly in Forestville. The Inn has beautiful rooms and well appointed bathroom with its own steam shower and jacuzzi tub. The hotel ground permits a pool, which was solar heated-that said, it is too cold to swim during winter months. We had dined at the onsite one-michelin star restaurant but were mildy disappointed, the details are to the next traveler to disclose on his/her own, though it perhaps is the only decent choice in town to dine if you choose to stay overnight. There is a spa, inspired by barn style architecture. I didn't have enough time to try the massage or the facial, but by glancing at the price list, I understand it had a luxury aim for guests who want an absolute sanctuary for their reception. The staff are lovely, but a bit slow to respond; yet again, I needed to remind that I was on the west coat. Overall it was memorable.

When we arrived at the Farmhouse Inn we were greeted by very friendly and attentive staff, the check-in process was completed quickly. Included in pleasant conversation with the staff was a nice glass of Chardonnay and a special cookie……..both delicious. We also took advantage of some homemade bath amenities offered for our room. Our bags had been collected from our vehicle and we followed behind them to our room. What a room, attention to detail was apparent everywhere. Beautiful colours and textures created a comforting space that was complemented by the design and layout of the spacious room. Two sided gas fireplace made both the inside and private patio outside very cozy. The bathroom was large and well laid out offering a large jetted tub, heated floors and a huge shower/steam room. Anna arrived at our door shortly after to show us the rest of the exquisite 24 guest room property. We saw a few different room categories that were again very inviting and well positioned for the privacy and comfort we experienced in our room. We visited the spa building and walked through the adjoining treatment rooms, the design was again creative and unique. The whole spa had a horse stable theme complete with Dutch doors for each treatment room. A beautiful painted horse took up a whole wall of each room. One of the onsite Kitties kept an eye on us in case we missed anything here. The inviting outdoor pool, hot tub and outdoor fire pit are all well positioned for the guests enjoyment. The property flows, giving a soothing retreat feel. But don’t worry the excellent Wi-Fi and high quality flat screen TV is here if you are so inclined. Dinner in the restaurant was such a treat. The very diverse menu offered mouth-watering descriptions of many choices and the staff explained in detail some suggestions for us. The meal exceeded our expectations. Joe joined us part way through our dinner and we chatted for quite some time. Joe is a very interesting and gracious host and we enjoyed his company. Move over Napa and Sonoma the Russian River Valley is like the elephant in the room, this is something that needs to be talked about. Abundant Family wineries that meander through rolling hills, offering a wine tasting experience you cannot replicate in the adjoining valleys. We sampled many pinots and chardonnay at several of our stops and enjoyed them all. We look forward to our next trip to the Farmhouse Inn and the Russian River Valley

With all the amazing No California restaurants, wines, farm to table, bla, bla, bla, Farmhouse sets itself apart. Year after year, amazing service, creative menu with enough mainstream items and some creative. - ok, we're well traveled but still not into some of the "weird stuff,." to choose and we always experience perfection. Knowledgable sommelier, wines from around the world where we discover something new and usually order at K & L when we're back in the city. Love the practice of including "service" in the final bill - so much easier (why spoil the sublime experience sorting out money - I mean who doesn't tip 20%? - if not, don't reserve here as you won't appreciate it. So we both wanted the soufflé for desert but wanted the apple tart thing more which we ordered. Our waiter just brought out the soufflé on the house. Yes, we spend more here than most places, I want to try the new wines and the food is sublime - and never look back. But will soon be back again for that perfect occasion.
