We were absolutely over the moon about our recent stay at 1801 First. We booked four rooms there for my family to enjoy during my 30th birthday vacation. We personally stayed in the Garden Cottage, which has a super dreamy garden outside of its doors perfect for enjoying the early morning and early evenings hours the border your wine tasting tours off-site. Our entire family was blown away by the level of service, comfort and beauty of accommodations, and overall experience at 1801 and I know they will be back (I hope we will all be back together!). The team at 1801 made me feel so very special for my birthday celebration and they have created such a special place that we now feel like is another home away from home when we are enjoying Napa Valley. They truly provide a unique and wonderful experience to guests between chef-prepared 3-course breakfasts, to chef-prepared welcome truffles in the room, to wine and cheese hours every day where the owners and staff enjoy socializing with the guests. We are very thankful!

This historic home lives up to the description of "luxury". We stayed two nights in a superior room which was only one of two rooms on the main floor. Every need had been considered and provided within our room setting including a small fridge in the walk in closet. In addition to the great location, wonderful room, lovely breakfast and social hour, the owners are the real stars of this show. Carrie is on site daily with her warm and welcoming personality, overseeing each facet of her bed and breakfast and providing help with wine tasting itineraries or other info her guests might need. We visit Napa frequently and have found the place we will return to in this inn.

The Inn is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are so clean and spacious. Each morning they serve a gourmet breakfast that is so delicious. Each evening they have a cocktail hour that is friendly and relaxing. The owners have done such a beautiful job with this Inn and we would go back!

My husband and I stayed at 1801 while in Napa for a family wedding. Everything about our experience was superb. Our room was quiet with a comfy bed, skylight, fireplace and soaking tub. Breakfasts were delicious and the endless supply of cookies appreciated, although not by our scales! The Inn is centrally located for area dining and ideal for a restful evening after a day of wine tasting.

This review is long overdue. My husband and I visited 1801 for 3 nights mid week in January, for an early 16th anniversary getaway. Since we were the only guests at the inn for the first two nights (Tues/Wed), wine and appetizers were left waiting in our room for us. Our room was beautiful (a Junior Suite on the 2nd floor of the main house), with an easy to use fireplace, plush robes, huge bath, and a TV and DVD player with movies to pick from in the lobby. Each evening, a menu was left on on door, and we each were able to select from 3 breakfast options and times. It was hard to choose! Each morning, the breakfast was wonderful. It always started with fresh baking and some fruit in some kind of glaze (a new flavor each day, and all were so good!). This was followed by our chosen main course. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. Our morning hostess, Shirlee, was also a delight to chat with, and delivered wonderful service. When we mentioned going to see a matinee nearby, she slipped some homemade cookies into a ziploc for us, for a theater snack. :) On our last evening, Carrie, the owner, was there. It was lovely to meet her. She personally delivered wine and appetizers to us in the main living room area, and joined us to chat. We had a wonderful conversation, and it was clear just how much she cares to provide the very best service to each and every guest. 1801 is also a great location... an easy, quick stroll across the street and you are in downtown, with many restaurants and wine tasting rooms to visit. Sadly, 1801 and many other businesses in the city of Napa were hurt by a decrease in visitors from the widespread coverage of the Napa & Sonoma County Fires last October. However, the charming city of Napa, including 1801, were untouched... but people did not realize that, and so many canceled reservations. But the reality is that the city of Napa is unaffected, and open for business... and a wonderful place to visit. So go, and make sure you stay at 1801 during your visit. :)
