This was our first trip to Napa, and we feel we stayed at the perfect spot. As noted in the title, the location was quite convenient--easy to walk to downtown Napa for a bite to eat or something to drink, yet close to major roads. The crew at 1801 is top notch. We were stuck in awful traffic coming from SFO (might be stating the obvious for many, but do avoid the evening rush hour if at all possible). The exasperating drive was quickly suppressed in our minds, as we were welcomed by Laura with a glass of wine and shown to our room. We walked into Napa to a restaurant recommended by Laura, and our trip was off and running. We appreciated the friendly, funny, and helpful staff, Shirlee and Laura, and enjoyed the wine hours in the evening. Blair, one of the owners, was a delight to share stories with. The breakfasts were restaurant quality, with unique and interesting presentations. I'd never had fruit with lime syrup before--delicious! We appreciated the numerous recommendations and personal touches that we experienced. It was an experience so much richer than you'd find at a hotel. We felt so well cared for. Don't let the recent Napa fires dissuade you from taking a trip sometime soon. They are open for business!

We stayed here for a long weekend in early November for a friends trip, and could not have picked a better place to stay! Before arrival, they arranged a wine tour for us, as well as booked tastings for us on other days. During our stay, they assisted with dinner reservations, provided a fabulous breakfast daily (tip - get the bacon!), an enjoyable (and tasty) wine hour each evening, arranged shipping for us at the end of the trip, and so much more. The rooms are wonderful and, when the weather cooperates, the garden area is a great place to relax. Thank you to everyone at 1801 First for making our Napa Valley visit so wonderful!

Went to Napa and got chased away by the wine country fires. Really bad and threw a major kink in our trip. The folks at 1801 were great to us during the day or so that we stayed. And then were very willing to work with us on refunding money that was due for days that got postponed by the fire. The place is spectacular and the people that run it are fun to be around. Highly recommended.

Can’t say enough great things about 1801 First. My wife and I️ stayed recently for a trip to wine country and will definitely be staying again. The family owned staff are terrific and helped us with winery and dinner reservations that were all perfect. Our cottage was great and very clean. Breakfast every morning and wine hour in the evening was also great. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We spent a wonderful weekend at 1801 First at the end of October. We were concerned about the impact of the fires around Napa Valley, but Carrie and Blair, owners of 1801, and their staff made sure we had an incredible stay. The house is beautiful, their staff are so welcoming and helpful, and the warmth of the proprietors is truly engaging. We recommend this house to anyone wishing to have a restful and memorable stay.
