What is there not to love about 1801 First? The owner, Carrie, is quite involved in the day to day activities and goes out of her way to meet each guest and get to know them. Her staff is just as friendly. Their chef prepares an exquisite breakfast daily, usually with 3 choices for the main course, accompanied by freshly baked pastries/muffins, a fresh bowl of fruit, and juices/coffee/tea. Carrie has thankfully kept the original charm of this beautifully crafted home. Designed in 1903, she has modernized it to create a luxurious atmosphere, with a choice of rooms inside of the home or cottages just outside of the home. She has kept the home's original charm, allowing you to slowly drift back in time within the storied walls, enjoying the craftsmanship of the original woodwork and magnificent architecture. You are walking distance to downtown Napa and there is on-site parking in their parking lot and also on the street - both are very safe. She provides a wine hour in the late afternoon / early evening and there's always a plate of yummy cookies on the breakfast bar. If you're looking for first class and personalized service, beautiful accommodations, fabulous breakfasts, a convenient location, and a magical experience in Napa Valley, you've found the right place!

We love staying at 1801 First Luxury Inn! It is our number one choice when visiting Napa. Heartfelt hospitality welcomes us every time! The staff there is our favorite- Carrie, Blair, Laura, Lori, Louisa, Maria, Jim, and Chef! They are all amazing!!! The rooms are delightful! The fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere where we like to relax after a day of wine tasting. Wine hour is fun each evening and the breakfast meals are delicious. The inn is lovely - decorated with a fall/Halloween theme. It could not be in a more convenient location...walking distance from wonderful downtown Napa and Oxbow Market. It was great to be back and we are already looking forward to our next visit at 1801.

Excellent, local, and the full experience! Located just a 5 minute walk from the start of downtown, and 10-15 minute drive to the start of the amazing vineyards. The property is charming, rooms were extremely spacious and spotless. We stayed in Suite 1 & Suite 2 on the main floor, both had a gas fireplace as well as a shower/separate tub. The rooms were huge!!! King beds were super comfortable with fluffy duvets and soft sheets. Despite being on the first floor, we didn't hear any noise above us or outside of the room (which was the lobby area). Each room has built-in AC which is great for cooling on warmer days, and could double as a fan if a noise machine helped you sleep. Another highlight of this stay is the staff! There are other chain accommodations downtown, which might title themselves as the official "Forbes" 4-stars, but at those places you're paying just for the hotel. At 1801 First (which is ranked 4.8/5 & above on all review sites by the way!), you're paying for wonderful accommodations as well as the EXPERIENCE! The staff at 1801 First provided an awesome, local, friendly atmosphere. They cooked us a home-cooked, hot breakfast every single morning. Every evening, they hosted a cheese & wine hour. We had the privilege of one of the owners as our breakfast chef one morning, and the other owner as a wine-hour host one evening! It's really telling to see the owners actually working on property and engaging with guests - this is by far the most unique part of the stay, and what makes this stand out from all other places in Napa. They had lots of recommendations, stories about the town, and advice for navigating! Not only did they share lots, but they had a genuine interested in getting to know their guests and providing them with the best hospitality. Sounds like they might even be expanding the property soon - that is a good sign they're doing things right! Thank you to everyone at 1801 who spent time chatting with us, helping us, and showing dedication to upholding a 5/5 property!

We revisited 1801 First for the 9th time to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Once again, Blair and Carrie and Laura and Chef did not disappoint! We first visited for our 10th anniversary and fell in love with Suite 1 which we now consider our home away from home. The breakfasts are fantastic and unique and never disappoint. Wine hour is not to be missed. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people from all over the world while sipping wine and snacking on amazing charcuterie over the last 15 years and when Carrie isn’t there, Laura is a wonderful hostess who has been working at the in for years! It’s a great time to share what we all did that day and what the evening dinner plans are. Without fail, the next morning we all check in on our dinner experiences and share recommendations! This year we arrived to a generous bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a special gift and felt pampered every mi Ute until we had to leave. We would never stay anywhere else when visiting wine country!

My husband & I have been coming here for a couple of years. This inn is very cozy and the rooms are beautiful. Every time we go to Napa this is our place to stay. We go at least 2 to 3 times a year. Blair & Carrie are awesome hosts! The staff are very friendly & attentive. They always make our stay feel like we are at home. Oh and the breakfast is amazing!
