Stay here for a full Napa experience! Truly committed to hospitality & guests building the best memories.

Excellent, local, and the full experience! Located just a 5 minute walk from the start of downtown, and 10-15 minute drive to the start of the amazing vineyards. The property is charming, rooms were extremely spacious and spotless. We stayed in Suite 1 & Suite 2 on the main floor, both had a gas fireplace as well as a shower/separate tub. The rooms were huge!!! King beds were super comfortable with fluffy duvets and soft sheets. Despite being on the first floor, we didn't hear any noise above us or outside of the room (which was the lobby area). Each room has built-in AC which is great for cooling on warmer days, and could double as a fan if a noise machine helped you sleep. Another highlight of this stay is the staff! There are other chain accommodations downtown, which might title themselves as the official "Forbes" 4-stars, but at those places you're paying just for the hotel. At 1801 First (which is ranked 4.8/5 & above on all review sites by the way!), you're paying for wonderful accommodations as well as the EXPERIENCE! The staff at 1801 First provided an awesome, local, friendly atmosphere. They cooked us a home-cooked, hot breakfast every single morning. Every evening, they hosted a cheese & wine hour. We had the privilege of one of the owners as our breakfast chef one morning, and the other owner as a wine-hour host one evening! It's really telling to see the owners actually working on property and engaging with guests - this is by far the most unique part of the stay, and what makes this stand out from all other places in Napa. They had lots of recommendations, stories about the town, and advice for navigating! Not only did they share lots, but they had a genuine interested in getting to know their guests and providing them with the best hospitality. Sounds like they might even be expanding the property soon - that is a good sign they're doing things right! Thank you to everyone at 1801 who spent time chatting with us, helping us, and showing dedication to upholding a 5/5 property!

A MUST if you are celebrating anything (or not)!!!

We revisited 1801 First for the 9th time to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Once again, Blair and Carrie and Laura and Chef did not disappoint! We first visited for our 10th anniversary and fell in love with Suite 1 which we now consider our home away from home. The breakfasts are fantastic and unique and never disappoint. Wine hour is not to be missed. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people from all over the world while sipping wine and snacking on amazing charcuterie over the last 15 years and when Carrie isn’t there, Laura is a wonderful hostess who has been working at the in for years! It’s a great time to share what we all did that day and what the evening dinner plans are. Without fail, the next morning we all check in on our dinner experiences and share recommendations! This year we arrived to a generous bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a special gift and felt pampered every mi Ute until we had to leave. We would never stay anywhere else when visiting wine country!

Couples weekend getaway

My husband & I have been coming here for a couple of years. This inn is very cozy and the rooms are beautiful. Every time we go to Napa this is our place to stay. We go at least 2 to 3 times a year. Blair & Carrie are awesome hosts! The staff are very friendly & attentive. They always make our stay feel like we are at home. Oh and the breakfast is amazing!

This is a wonderful place to enjoy a Napa stay! The staff is very friendly and accommodating for a great experience. Wonderful rooms and breakfast, along with a social time in the evening. They are super flexible and go out of their way to help make memorable stays. We are always excited to share our days with 1801 1st Luxury Inn!

Very poor customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My wife and I booked one of Cottages on 9/1925. This was for a romantic one night stay for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and for my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately, the jet tub turned out to be a standard single-person bathtub, which was very disappointing. My wife was crushed. The staff member who checked us was empathetic and tried to help, but the other rooms were dirty and unavailable. We had no choice but to stay in the cottage, and the evening was far from romantic experience we had hoped for. The next morning, we spoke to the owner, who showed little empathy and blamed the situation on our third party booking. She’d mentioned they hadn’t cleaned rooms since the prior weekend, despite it being Tuesday. Overall, the customer service was very poor, and the experience felt like a waste of $350.
