Upon checking in, we learned that our rooms were not in the same building and no offer to address this issue was made. When we arrived to the King room, there were several bugs crawling on the drapes. There was no place to gather with the group we met there….no place to play cards, visit, etc. What makes this place a “resort “???? The idea is laughable. I was wholly unimpressed (at best) and disgusted in general. We’ll NEVER be back and will recommend against anyone we know staying there as well.

Disappointing. My wife and I had lovely memories of the Inn from some years ago but our return trip was disappointing. The rooms are in dire need of refurbishment and updating. Cleanliness was spotty -- the air vent in the ceiling was so dark and black it drew your eyes to it; the main garbage can for our room was clearly not emptied from the last rental. Comfort was lacking -- our room had a sleeper sofa that was about the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to relax in and it appeared to be decades old. In the quest of a nice room we also selected a room that offered a upper alcove for the bed -- DON'T DO THIS. The staircase to the alcove is a spiral/circle one and while the idea may be quaint, it really is impossible to go up it with anything in your hands primarily because you are holding on for dear life to go up these thin, thin, steps in a tight, tight spiral. And upstairs in the alcove is the bed and two side tables. That's it. No other facilities whatsoever. So, guess what? Got to get up at night and relieve the bladder? Better get very awake to go down and then up those stairs because they are truly perilous even wide awake and the daylight. We will never go back.

I stayed here twice in May. The location is fantastic when visiting the town of New Harmony. The rooms are well decorated with comfortable beds with nice sheets and towels. My wife made a comment how great the soaps were. Both time the rooms were spotless. Both time I was in the building furthest east. The building and common areas are showing some wear. Because I had been a few years ago, I knew what to expect. However for the price of a room, it is a deal!

This is the only hotel in town, I think. It certainly doesn't qualify as a "resort" in my opinion. My room was just average - a little dated. Bathroom was fine. I think I was the only one on the property the first night I stayed. Staff leave at 11 pm, so there is no staff there overnight. I was not comfortable with that. The second night there seemed to be some other guests. It was VERY quiet. So was the whole town. If I ever go back to New Harmony I will look for a B&B.

The Inn provided a delightful stay. The service was very friendly and accommodating, rooms spacious with fridges and microwaves, and the cost was reasonable. Special touches included a small Christmas stocking with miniature candy canes and a satchel of local lavender in each room. Locally made soap from New Harmony Soap was provided in the bathrooms. The beds are firm. While I prefer a foam mattress, one of my party loves hard beds so I did not fault the Inn on this. As the Inn upgrades, I’d love to see them get Smart TVs. Finally, daily housekeeping is by request only. Handicap accessibility is great here - there are many cute lodging options in the town but for a person in a wheelchair this is the way to go to avoid stairs.
