We decided to get away to celebrate my husband's birthday and his recovery after having major surgery. Our only regret was that we only booked one night! We were treated royally by the friendly, welcoming staff from the moment we arrived at the Shaw Club. Our accommodations were beautiful, the room was spotless and we were delighted with the happy birthday wishes and yummy treats that awaited us. After a leisurely walk exploring the many shops in NOTL and a little 'chill' time in our cozy room by the fireplace, we made our way to Zees for an unforgettable dining experience. Kim took such good care of us, she was so pleasant and has a great sense of humour. Her attentiveness was just right, allowing us time between courses. The food was over the top delicious. We tried a couple of appetizers, my husband especially enjoyed the salmon croquettes. The main course was cooked and served to perfection. We hadn't planned on having breakfast at the hotel the next morning but our evening experience was so enjoyable that we decided to treat ourselves to Zees and we were not disappointed. Jacob served us a yummy breakfast and kept our coffee cups full. The entire weekend, accommodations, delicious meals and courteous, thoughtful staff is just what we needed. Thank you to the staff and management. We would definitely recommend the Shaw Club and Zees if you are looking for a little pampering in a quaint, peaceful setting.

The Shaw Club Hotel is a modern alternative to their sister property (Prince of Wales) down the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable. While my room only had a shower, it had multiple shower heads and a small tv in the mirror, which was nice. Service here is very good. The staff at the desk are courteous and helpful. Complimentary coffee is available around the clock in the lobby. Also, in a bit of a throw back, they have a selection of DVDs that you can peruse and check out in the lobby. Ample parking for guests behind the hotel. Breakfast is available for an extra charge at their restaurant Zee's. The price is discounted for guests. All-in-all the hotel is nice, though not many amenities as "club" might suggest. The hotel has the feel of a nice, well-maintained , mid-range chain. It seems designed for you to spend time out exploring the town and surrounding wine region, which is perhaps as it should be.

Visited the first week of March Weather was very cold but no snow We brought our two chocolate labs as the hotel is pet friendly. The hotel, staff and restaurant were amazing! There is a huge field a one minute walk away for the dogs to play in. We enjoyed walking around town with the dogs too. The restaurant was wonderful- we cancelled reservations somewhere else for the second night and dined at Zee's both nights as we were so impressed by dinner the first night. We were greeted by everyone both coming and going- almost like staying with family. The breakfast both days was also excellent and we were happy to sit by the fireplace while eating to warm us after one of our many walks around town. Great location- At one end of town but only a minute or two walk from everything the wonderful town had to offer. They have a shuttle too but we enjoyed the short walks. Really enjoyed the lounge with another interesting gas fireplace and spent a lot of time relaxing in front of the large reef tank in the entrance area. Can't wait to revisit soon! Didn't spend a lot of time in our room but it was super and the shower was amazing

This was our second time here, the first being back in 2011. In 2011 we stayed in the main building. Our room was lovely, with personalized touches like a letter welcoming us. The spa was attached back then (or at least very close, if I remember correctly). We were happy to see the same personalized touches when we arrived this time: a letter greeting us with the WiFi password, a brownie, and a nice warm room with music playing. We stayed in The Annex this time, which was nice but a bit outdated and not quite as nice as the room in the attached building. We couldn't get the fireplace to stay on, the water came out like a firehouse in the bathroom sink, and it was a bit smaller and more outdated than we remembered the other room to be. Regardless it was lovely and clean, the staff is beyond helpful, pleasant, and attentive, and we had no complaints about the room. The hotel is located at the end of the street, across from the theatre. It's about a 3 minute walk to the "main drag" of stores and restaurants. Very conveniently located without being right in the middle of everything, so it's a tony bit quieter which we loved. We will absolutely come back as we love the location and the services. The spa is now located in the Prince of Wales, which is a block and half walk from the hotel. It's definitely worth it, the massages and facials were great. The "water services" they have are actually the hotel saltwater pool and jacuzzi, which is nice but you are sharing with all the hotel guests. The staff here was also excellent and we would love to come back.
