Reviews for Saybrook Point Inn & Spa
We stayed at Saybrook Point Inn & Spa in February 2018 when the weather couldn't have been colder or greyer. However this hotel really is a hidden gem - from the location, to the staff and the facilities. We had a large room on the second floor which was decorated in tasteful but not too contemporary design. A nice touch was the real working fireplace in the room lounge area which the staff come and light for you whenever you desire. The hotel has a great spa and swimming pool - there is also an outdoor pool/spa but it was raining at the time we wanted to use this so not ideal. My friend also had a massage which she said was fantastic. The location of the hotel is lovely - right on the sea with its own harbor - we did a walk around the property and also saw the lighthouse accommodation which would be ideal for a honeymoon or romantic couples getaway. There are also really nice walks around the hotel and it is walking distance to the town of Old Saybrook which is quaint - not a day trip or anything but we had brunch there and ambled around. Niantic Bay is close by which has a boardwalk and some good activity spots. The restaurant, Fresh Salt, is attached to the hotel - we had dinner and brunch here. Dinner was very busy but the staff were professional and the food great, great wine selection and fresh seafood. On the day we checked out we had the famous Brunch which we had seen recommended online - it really is like nothing I have had before the food ranged from breakfast items such as pancakes, waffles, fruits to prime steak with all the trimmings and pasta!! It was a fantastic stay and I have recommended this hotel to others - I would go back again and again - maybe this time in the summer to have full use of the facilities and beach.
Everyone who works at the hotel that we met is super friendly, polite and professional. The hotel is clean, the room was clean and the decor was very beautiful. The bed is comfortable to sleep in. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the marina. Although I asked for a room away from the elevator which was confirmed, as we had a toddler with us, the room we got was the first one from the elevator. It was pretty quiet and we were not disturbed by any hallway noise. Its a good place for an occasion gathering. The inside pool was clean, there are also how steam and dry saunas, the pool area has shower room which is convenient. The SPA was great. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We had the most delicious (late) breakfast on the patio beside the marina - 4 of us plus a puppy (traveling with a pup and finding a place where you can enjoy a meal with him alongside is a wonderful treat! (it is a pet friendly hotel and my parents stayed with their pup). All 5 of us loved our food. The menu is unique and extensive. The service was excellent. The view is beautiful. As I wasn't staying the night, I was able to take a tour of the property before leaving and it has a beautiful spa, pool and rooms. Even the bathrooms are luxurious. My parents, who stayed, said 'they didn't want to leave their room'. They loved it. They did leave it for dinner again in the resort restaurant and were glad they did as they said it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the spa, more of the menus and an overnight stay. Highly recommend!

It does offer peace and tranquility with lovely views & a great restaurant featuring Italian and seafood fusion crafted dishes. It has a great indoor & outdoor pool and a spacious gym. We didn’t try the spa. Some rooms on the 3 rd floor have low ceilings and dark. Our 2nd floor room had a sliding glass door to a balcony and a window as well- so bright.
The inn has wonderful views and is located in a very nice spot on the water at marina. It is close to town but not walking distance. The inn itself is very clean but very dated. The rooms are circa 1990 and need to be renovated, this includes the lobby and hallways. We paid $500 for a room and we thought that was a lot given the décor, we did have a small terrace. The inn has stunning outdoor places to sit and relax as well as a great restaurant on site--which I highly recommend recommendations. I would go back if they renovated the hotels. It would be great for a weekend getaway. Service was very good.
