We have stayed at the Inn in the past, and have enjoyed the rooms and the amenities. This time, we decided to visit by boat. We arrived at the marina and our slip reservation was confirmed and waiting for us. The marina staff were professional, attentive, courteous and knowlegeable. The marina facilities are clean, the docks are spacious, and the final perk is that marina guests have access to the Saybrook Point Inn facilities (pool, gym, showers, spa). The Inn also provides loaner bikes to explore the area, and runs a shuttle into downtown Old Saybrook, about a mile away. The Fresh Salt restaurant is an excellent choice for dinner, and provides seating inside or out depending on the weather. This is also a great point of departure (near the mouth of the Connecticut River) to explore the Connecticut River, or move on to many scenic destinations along the eastern end of Long Island Sound, Block Island, or Gardiners Bay. So, whether you choose to arrive by land or by sea, it's an excellent choice.

A leisurely lunch at a lovely, dockside location. Weather was perfect! Seated quickly, offered a table outside in the shade or in the sun, which I thought was a nice option, since we're not all fans of blazing sunlight! Our server came over quickly, took our drink order, and allowed us to peruse the lunch menu at our leisure. We both ordered the Cobb salad, which was delicious. Chopped nicely, with slices of fresh avocado, chopped egg, and bacon, covered in a light buttermilk dressing. Tasty and light, perfect for a summer day. Dessert was a hard choice as there many appealing choices! We selected the key lime creme brûlée with meringue, and chocolate cake with sorbet and whipped cream. We shared each dessert, and could not decide which was better. I guess we will just have to go back. Coffee was tasty and fresh. We lingered a bit over coffee and did not feel rushed at all. Servers were attentive without being smothering. If there is anything I could change, it would be to take one or two tables out to create a little more walking room! Several times my seat was kicked by people walking by. I don't know how this experience would change by dining inside, but the deck sure is a lovely place to spend a summer afternoon! This is also a hotel with many amenities and a spa. I attended a wedding here a few years back, and it was lovely. Definitely worth a visit!

We rented one of the two houses at the Inn. There was a power outage in town that night. The lights came back on sometime during the early hours. The next morning my wife was stuck in the elevator in the dark. The emergency call button didn't work and being claustrophobic she started to scream. She was let out by another family member. Not knowing I got in the elevator and got stuck. The same thing happen when the hotel staff showed up. When the General Manager showed up , he looked at the elevator, I explained what happened, he said that's a lie it never happened and began to walk out. Several family members heard him as did two of his staff and they were so upset that they gave me the owners phone number. He was snotty, condescending and rude. The event staff is excellent but the Management is inept and incapable of handling issues out of the ordinary. I travel 150-180 days a year on business and have never experienced anything quite like it.

Check in process was easy, staff was friendly. It is more informal than a high end resort, so you really get that "inn" feel. The rooms are very big, very clean, and the HVAC worked wonderful. There was nice new wallpaper in my room. The hotel is not set up as a business hotel, more of a vacation destination. So there are no outlets near the bed, no USBs, not outlets on the desk. Not a lot of light in the room. That being said, the bed was very comfortable and felt much like a nice resort. The bathrooms are nice, standard bathroom size. Towels were fine. The gym was very nice, with plenty of equipment. There was a spa I did not try and a salt water pool I did not try. They had electric car chargers, which was great, and anyone with an electric car knows how important it is to find a station, so this is one less thing to worry about. Overall this was a nice place, and I would stay again if I'm "inn" the area

Stayed in the beautiful, couples only guest house. Room was a little pricey but very private and nice. One of quietest and relaxing places ever stayed in. Would have been nice at the price charged to have been served breakfast (there were complimentary muffins and coffee). Overall a great experience. Ate dinner at Inn's restaurant one night - great meal with a great view.
