I recently had the opportunity to stay at this lovely hotel/inn/B&B. It is right on the waterfront in Old Saybrook. My first visit I stayed in the main hotel, this time they put me in the three story B&B building across the street from the main hotel. The entire building must have been recently renovated because it looked like a brand new house, but from the early 1900s. My room was on the second floor overlooking the parking lot and the Connecticut River beyond. I had a private wrap around porch that was really magnificent. each morning I would walk out and look over the river and the boats heading out for the day. The bath and stall shower were huge, with plenty of strong hot water., the bed was very comfortable. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant was very friendly and could not help yo quick enough. (I called for some soap and it was at my door within 5 minutes). If you eat in the restaurant I highly recommend the Chiopino (sp) - excellent! Next time I'm in the ares - I'll stay there again.

The hotel was nice. Asked for a room overlooking the ocean/marina. The room had a view of the parking lot. Made dinner reservations well in advance. Asked for a table in the main dinning room with a view overlooking the marina. First we were brought to a booth no where near the windows. Could have just been any restaurant with no view. The finally gave us a table in the bar near a window. Over all, this was not the experience l was hoping for.

OMG!!! Tremendously beautiful. The views are sensational. The room... thee best sheets, mattress and pillows we shave ever slept in ... EVER!!! The spa was spectacular. Awesome massage. Loved the steam room, sauna and pool as well. Dinner was absolutely delicious. And the service was excellent. A morning walk over the causeway was full of birds and swans and ducks. So peaceful. And town, with its rich history (Katherine Hepburn is from there) was quaint with some great shops and restaurants. This may very well become an anniversary tradition. Pristine perfection.

Great place for a getaway! We stayed in the Three Stories house. The room was clean and well appointed. The house has a ton of character, including some common areas to relax/cook/play pool. The main hotel across the street is gorgeous, with pools/bar/patio space overlooking the marina. We can't wait to go back!

My family & I visited Saybrook Inn for 1st time as a halfway stop from Newport. We're already looking forward to our return! We loved everything about the property inclusive of serene setting, marina and rich history. We had the opportunity to check out the marina lighthouse suite and guest houses. All accommodations and grounds are quite special. We stayed in the Main Inn in 2 beautiful adjoining rooms each exuding impeccable elegance & attention to detail. Our rooms had fireplaces, waterviews and spacious bathrooms. We dined at "Fresh Salt" for dinner and breakfast. Our meals were beyond delicious (highly recommend the scallop special, lobster rolls and caramel waffles...actually all meals were divine!!). The Fresh Salt food, ambiance & service were top notch. We had such a wonderful, memorable stay and will be back.
