My husband and I stayed here Sept. 4-8, 2017. It was a peaceful, restful vacation, a beautiful place, exquisite room and great pool and restaurant. The peacefulness continued until we realized our beloved pet had disappeared. John, the Property Manager and Darcy, his wife were incredible in finding and saving her,..they alerted all hotel staff, who were instantly on the look-out for her. Nobody gave up, and John finally found her, terrified and hiding. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Saybrook Point Inn. The Management is the best I've seen, and the staff is so accommodating and gracious. We are so grateful to Darcy, John and the rest of the staff who were instrumental in making our vacation a success!

We just returned from a four night stay at the Saybrook Inn & Spa and it was wonderful. It was our first visit. We asked for a water view and had a direct view and a nice little balcony that overlooked the marina. The room was big and the bathroom was enormous by modern standards. It had two sinks and a separate make-up table. The room also had a refrigerator. The service throughout our stay was outstanding. It is clear they take the time to train the staff and that the Inn's policy is to be customer focused. Also we drive an EV and they had 3 chargers on the premises. A highlight was the spa day. We had a very reasonably priced package ($179)that included a 50 minute massage, a customized 30 minute facial and a$25.00 lunch voucher. The services were all first rate and we go to a lot of spas so I can say this with great confidence. The food in the restaurant is very good and the portions are huge. They were actually too big for us. The Marina bar is lots of fun and on weekends you might get lucky and see a wedding at the end of the pier. The hotel does a big wedding business and managed to keep those events from intruding on our experience and vice versa. One thing that could be improved - The wine selection, especially by the glass, could be stepped up. We'll definitely be back and are already looking at the calendar for potential dates.

I travel... a lot! Here's a property that cares about the experience of the guest in a location that is just plain gorgeous. It's not opulent or ostentatious. In fact, driving up, I wasn't sure I was in the right place because from the outside, it looks like an older facility. Once inside, all of the staff - every single team member - stepped up to ensure a super positive experience. They were personable and friendly. They had suggestions and solutions. The bedrooms are capacious and the ONLY suggestion I had is to provide more outlets. As a traveler, it would have been great to have an outlet strip next to the desk and another near the bed. I use my phones (plural) and my computers (plural) when I travel. Yes, this place is designed for rest. And, being here on a business trip, I wanted to be efficient AND get rest. The beds are great and the air conditioning system is really responsive. Did I mention that the beds are great? Traveling across time zones, I'm used to being wrecked by the second day. I wasn't. In fact, I was well rested. While Fresh Salt, the on-site restaurant, is lovely, we found their food to be inconsistent. Because they fed our group on two occasions, we had the opportunity to see the menu created twice. On day two, the food wasn't close to the quality or presentation on day one. In noting that to our server (poor thing turned ashen), she apologized and found the manager who listened and, in fact agreed. She handled it really well indicating that she'd talk with the chef(s) - different chefs and crews on different days - and she took care of a portion of our bill. We didn't ask her to do either... she just did. And it's that that allows us to want to come back. As a group, we've chosen different locations over the past several years. This is the first I'd say we'd all be happy to return to. While I didn't get to use the spa, the feedback from other group members was quite positive. It's expensive, but they got what they needed. So, well done Saybrook Point Inn... well done!!!

Review of their customer service and booking. Let me be clear. I did not stay at the Saybrook Point Inn but I definitely wanted to. My wife and I wanted a weekend getaway for our Anniversary and we were really looking forward to staying in a room with a fireplace, drinking by the fire pit and enjoying a relaxing day at the spa. This review is about the customer service from the booking process. When my wife and I priced out the room online we were given a total amount of $814.20. When I called to book via telephone, I spoke with Robin, and I was told that the amount, for the same room and same dates was going to now be $986.70. Robin would not honor the price that we found on their website because she had not "seen it." Robin was advised that I had taken a screen shot of the website and would share it with her. I was then put on hold so that Robin could speak with her "manager." Apparently the "manager" would not honor the original total cost that we were quoted on their website. This whole process really disappointed and frustrated my wife and I. We were really looking forward to staying at this establishment and were planning on eating, drinking and enjoying the spa there. We will try our luck at The Waters Edge in Westbrook.
