We Highly Recommend the Bellmore Inn & Resort

Hotel is in a great location. Rooms are comfortable and clean. We loved the family pool (even though they need more umbrellas on stands around the pool). We really appreciated the availability of coffee in the morning / cookies in the afternoon. The outdoor areas around the the hotel (for lounging and eating) are peaceful and relaxing.

Will never return, ruined vacation

Location is the only positive side of this place, 10 min walk to the beach. This is what we got for $500 per night + daily parking fee: The room we had (garden room, 1st floor) was dark, tiny, no decent A/C, no working TV, smelly closet, food crumbs in the drawer, cheapest toilet paper available. No sink in the bathroom, no decent hand soap/shower gel/body lotion in weathered dispensers. It was noisy because of the people walking/talking on the 2nd floor room above ours. The sink was in the room sharing space with the smelly old coffee machine. The buffet breakfast was mediocre, the usual overdone breakfast sausages, scramble eggs, some fruits, no fresh bakery item, just some limpy, dump, thawed muffins and scones. The best item in the buffet was coffee. Upon arrival we saw dirty footsteps in the bath tub. There are two pools on the property, both had dirty water in them. If the General Manger of the property is aware of all these problems and made no desire to correct them, than he/should not be in hospitality business. Also, I would like to see at least one of the people who posted 5 star reviews of this property. They either had very different experience or have no idea about what the decent hotel should look like.

Honeymoon Trip

My husband and I are currently here for our anniversary. We were so excited to get away and based on all the fantatic reviews, we could not wait to stay here. I will start with the good. Alex, the golf cart driver is wonderful. What a sweet young man. He took us down to the boardwalk and gave us many suggestions. He was fun to talk with and has gpne out of his way to acknolwdge us each day. Garth, at the front desk, I believe he is the general manager, was very kind to me and listened to my concerns and tried to fix the problems we had. He moved us to a new room, which I will get to soon. When we checked in we were given a garden view room. It says on the website that there is no elevator to these rooms. I did not realize that, It is hard to get all your belongings up the flight of stairs. We were room 202. Despite the lack of elevator, I was still so excited to see the room. My high hopes were deflated pretty fast. The room was tiny, smelled so musty, like s damp basement, and the shower head was awful. Water came out, but one stream of water. It was terrible. I immediately went to the front desk and Garth offered us another room. We had to spend one night in 202 and agreed to that. It was rough with the smell. It gave me a headache. The next day we got moved to the Palmer House. This was suppose to be an upgrade, but I just do not see it. They did put a dehumidifier in this room, which helped a bit with the smell. The shower was much better, but this time the TV did not work. Normally we do not watch TV when away, but there was a pretty bad rain storm, so we were stuck in the room, so that was frustrating. In addition to that, the people in the room above us kept moving the furniture around. Alll we head was stuff being dragged. And, I know that is not the fault of the hotel. In the new room, we had to kill 3 bugs, which I again kmow is not anyones fault. In both rooms the air condition unit was so loud. We ended up turning it off in our second room. Both rooms were outdated and very worn. Holes in the walls, small bathrooms, not kept up at all. For the price we paid, I expected much better. I am wondering if all the rave reviews come from people who are staying in the club suites on the 4th floor. This is an adult only floor that you cannot get to if you do not book it. Maybe those rooms are the good ones. For over 400 a night this place was not a good find. As I said, we are here celebrating our anniversry. I always go with my gut and I am kicking myself for not this time. We had the Beach View Hotel booked and last miinute I changed to the Bellmoor. That was a big mistake. The rooms were surface cleaned, the staff was somewhat helpful. Common areas outside could use a redo. The breakfast in the morning is very good, and so are the cookies. However, for the price we paid per night, it was not worth it. It truly was os disappointing.

As good as it looks

As good as it looks online. The staff was great. The room was clean and beautiful. We started each morning with an excellent breakfast before taking the short walk down to the beach and local shops. It was a wonderful experience. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
