Local place

It was “ok”. Food was not the best in the restaurant. Waitstaff was really bad. But all in all, the stay was good. Would go back. The machine they had for relaxation was amazing and I went back 3 times. I forget what it was called. There was a wedding going on but that not the fault of the hotel. They have to make business too

Friendly staff always with a smile to share; Tranquil ambiance; Great selection at the bar and restaurant; Very well kept, clean, and a lot of attention put into making the place have a very relaxing feel; the artwork placed around the place is worth taking a minute to view; I would definitely recommend this place if you want a relaxing get a way!

A nice quiet retreat

Rustic quiet get away with a variety of amenities. The property is large, surrounded by forest and walking trails. The grounds are beautiful with a lot of flowers and a pond in the middle. A little difficult to find at night.

Not worth the price

Bought a deal on Tuango, nothing of which I bought was included. Very disappointed, not worth it. Was promised a room with a mini bar, didn’t get it and then got charged more for a floor downstairs when that was the only room available. I paid for a neurospa treatment and when I got there they said they don’t do that anymore and offered me only 25$ to replace both of our treatments. The lady at the desk said the 25$ card is for anything in the hotel however when checking out they said it’s just for the restaurant to which we didn’t go too. I should’ve just stayed home or go to a cheaper place near me at this point

Lovely setting; Nice but cold room; Watch what they charge you for

We spent one night at this lovely inn in Quebec for a wedding. This hotel is situated in a beautiful countryside area, on a lake. It is about 45 minutes to an hour west of Montreal. (Somewhat inconvenient for people who were attending a wedding, as everyone had to drive or taxi if they were not staying at the hotel. Being in the country, there were no lights on the roads, so people were worried about driving back to Montreal or to their hotels after the wedding.) Lots of free parking was available. Check-in was at 4:00, but we arrived at 2:00 and they gave us our room about 15 minutes later. It had just been cleaned, so the floor was wet, but at least we knew they did a good job cleaning. The room was quite cold, with the air conditioner set at 19 degrees. We raised the temperature but it never warmed up. I had to get up in the middle of the night to find a blanket as the room was freezing. The room was large and nicely decorated, with two queen beds and plenty of storage, though only a few hangers. The beds and pillows were a bit soft for my liking, but everything was clean and the room had been renovated fairly recently. The bathroom was very large and updated, with a nice strong shower and two sinks. The bathroom lighting was dim and not good for putting on makeup (especially to attend a wedding) and the fan did not work. There was no safe in the room and no mini bar. For $300 a night we would expect these amenities. We had a room on the first floor by the pool, so it was a bit noisy with kids at the pool and firepit, and a lot of people were walking by our room so we didn't want to leave the curtains open. There was a small patio off the room with a few chairs, which was nice to sit on and relax. We could see the beautiful lake and gardens from our room, which was a really nice feature. The food at the on-site wedding was quite good, especially the appetizers. The service at the meal was very good. The wedding ceremony was held by the lake and it was really beautiful. We then had appetizers and cocktails outside under a large tent. The chairs were covered in dirt, so we had to shake off the cushions, but otherwise, it was quite nice. The dinner was in a large ballroom, which was lovely. The napkins were damp, which felt uncomfortable on my lap, and the tables felt very crowded. They left the very large charger plates on the table throughout the meal, and this unnecessarily took up a lot of space. Breakfast the next morning was good, other than the powdered eggs, which I would not have expected. When we received the wedding invitation we could not get a room, then we checked again and one was available online a few weeks later. We phoned the hotel to book it, and they said no rooms are available. We asked them to look again, and they found one. They charged us extra for two breakfasts, which we agreed to. When the wedding hosts later told us they would be having a post-wedding breakfast, I called to ask the hotel to remove the two breakfasts. They sent a new confirmation for about $50 less than the original price. When we went to check out, they had charged us for the breakfasts. Our host came to the front desk to say no, they wanted to cover the breakfasts. It turned out many of the wedding guests were charged for the breakfast, and they refused to refund this and let the hosts pay. This was embarrassing for the hosts and the guests. There was a lot of miscommunication regarding pricing involved in both booking and checking out. It may have been a language issue, as French is the staff's first language, however, their English was good, and even when our host spoke to them in French, they would not help sort out the breakfast issue. We gave up, as it was clear they would not budge. The day before arrival, they sent a message to ask us to check in online. When I went to do that, I saw they were charging us an additional $50 for the room, plus they wanted to charge the full amount to our credit card, even though they already had taken a $150 deposit when we booked the room. I called to ask what was going on, but the 1-800 phone number was out of service. Then I found a regular phone number. They said the $50 was for a security deposit. (Did they think we were going to trash the room? They already had a $150 deposit.) I decided to check in a the hotel rather than online, as I did not trust anything they were telling me. When we arrived, they again charged us $50 more than the quoted price, and charged the full amount of the room to our credit card, on top of the original $150 deposit. I showed them my confirmation of their price and they said it would all be sorted out at check out time. It will take a few days before we see confirmation on our credit card that they charged the correct amount. Fingers crossed, because I really don't want to have to deal with them again. This all left a really bad impression on us as we were leaving. Read less Tip: Scrutinize your bill before you leave.
