4th visit to this property and after this last getaway I will not be returning. Management was unprofessional, rude, and not accommodating. Had to wait 3 hours for our room on a Wednesday evening and received a drink ticket for compensation.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly. The most frustrating thing for us was being there for only one night and our room not being ready until 4pm (check in is 3pm and we got there at 10:30am). Once we finally got to our room it took an hour for them to bring us our ONE bag despite us calling 3 times. The manager felt bad and brought us a free drink but honestly, I'd expect more for such an inconvenience. He did apologize but also threw his co-workers under the bus saying that 'some people that shall go unnamed, don't take the initiative to make sure that guests are taken care of.' Anyway, this 2-hour delay prevented us from going to the pool and enjoying the short time we had there which was only further saddening as it rained the entire next day. I would go back but I'd hope that management can do something more for guests when largely inconvenienced then sling around free drink tickets. Knowing that our one night was over $600 I'd expect a discount...or at least them waiving the resort fee since that got taken away from us.

Asked for quiet room and got one next to the restaurant and across from the pub. Put out the do not disturb sign and was woken up in the afternoon by vacuuming at our door and again for ice. Later for turn down service by 5:15 PM. Early to say the least. The room had a dangerous fireplace hearth that was close to the bed and was a trip and fall hazard. Small room for an exorbitant price. Very disappointed.

Stayed here for a 3 night getaway with my wife. We were upgraded from a Junior suite to a one bedroom suite which was really nice a probably had a lot to do with our travel agent that booked the trip. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. Must have been recently upgraded because nothing was lacking. Place is picturesque on the Chesapeake Bay. They have boat, canoe and kayak rentals. Pool is very nice. We went mid week during the August. It was not crowded. It would have been nice if the pool restaurant was open. A snack and drink would have been nice. Spa is very nice. Stars restaurant was the best meal we had on our trip. The town of St. Michaels was kind of sleepy for summer but we were there Mon/Tues so maybe they take time off after the weekend. There were many families. Resort appears to be dog friendly. We saw so many dogs we wished we brought ours along. Valet parking was $16 per night but there are plenty of regular spaces that are convenient. Skip the valet.

Outstanding locally sourced food in a spectacular and peaceful setting. Rooms are variable, I had a terrific suite with a bathroom to remember. Service is first rate without being aggressive. Very well maintained for an historic property. Events people were total pros and I can imagine this as a marvelous family reunion or big anniversary celebration desitnation. The little town of St Micheal is also super cute. Having had an excellent time with my work family, I look forward to a return trip with my real family.
