7/18 - 7/20 - Except for lunch in town on arrival day, we did not leave this beautiful property with amazing view of Miles River. Enough there to keep us busy (boating (thank you, Captain Sean), lectures) and topnotch dining. Next time will add bikes, kayaks, and spa. Perfect destination for couples, family, single travelers, or girls' getaway. All employees greeted us with a friendly smile and remembered our names! Stellar service everywhere we turned. The Inn offers free transportation into town (thank you, Ryan), so you don't need to use your car once you park (free) at the Inn. Beautiful pool. Pool bar: Peach daiquiri the best I've ever had. We were welcome to use the pool after we checked out. We returned home feeling like we'd been away much longer than 2 1/2 days. We definitely will return. Room: 76 in Caledonia Building. Quiet newer end of the complex. Beautiful view. Spacious.

I LOVED it here. From the beautifully kept grounds that reminded me of the English countryside gardens to the comfortable and quaint rooms, to the water-views to the laid-back feel, I really loved this place. It was clearly designed with the idea of rest and relaxation in mind. The grounds are gorgeous and there are plenty of chairs and swings around the property for guests to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery both inside and out. There's a bocce court, a pool and a spa - unfortunately, we didn't have time to take advantage of any but love knowing that it's an option. The long driveway leading to the inn reminded me of something from the Wizard of Oz. It was so picturesque but no matter how many pictures I took, they just don't do it justice. Our suite with a balcony overlooking the water was really very nice. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable and we enjoying sitting on the balcony taking in the views from above. The library reminded me of something out Masterpiece Theater and the cozy pub with a separate seating area was so warm and welcoming. The location is great. It's about a 10 minute walk to the main shops and restaurants and they have a car service and bikes to get you to and from town. I would highly recommend this spot to people who are looking for a romantic getaway but would caution that the service wasn't as great as you might expect. For my husband and I, it wasn't big deal as we aren't the type that need to be catered to. But a few examples - they brought him the wrong drink at the bar, the waitress forgot our toast at breakfast and we had to go find her (she was on her cell phone in the corner) to ask her to bring it, we called for a bellhop that never came to get our luggage and the valet attendant packed our cooler sideways on top of our other bags so the ice melted and leaked all over everything... are any of these things a really big deal? Absolutely not and they wouldn't prevent us from going back again. But I would say if you're needy, expect to be catered to, waited on hand and foot and require 5 star service, this might not be the right place for you. Overall, I did find the staff to be very nice and don't want to let a few minor hiccups prevent me from giving this 5 stars. And I certainly would go back again and would recommend this spot to others!

This was my first visit to the Inn at Perry Cabin. My best friend and I were planning a girl's weekend to relax and hang out. The Inn is as lovely as the photos -- beautiful gardens leading up to the entrance. I loved the buildings, which have been built over time and the hallways are not in a straight line. The refurbishment a few years ago is lovely, with huge rooms that are comfortable and beautiful. We went to high tea on Saturday afternoon and it was delicious. We ordered champagne and so did the table next to us, so the waiter took us outside to see the sabrage, where he cut the top off with a sword. Breakfast was also delicious, and they were accommodating to special requests and allergies. Other guests were very friendly and we spent time in the bar meeting people. We got several spa services, which had to be booked in advance. The Inn offers a free shuttle service that will take you into town. While the overall experience was terrific, I can't rate the Inn with 5 stars due to the service. We called a few hours before arrival to make sure we had a room with two beds, as requested. The hotel wasn't able to read the comments/special requests in our reservation due to a known system integration issue, so we were sharing a bed. When we arrived, we waited nearly 5 minutes for the valet to arrive. To have a drink outside by the water, we needed to use plastic cups. There was no wait service by the water, so we had to go back to the bar ourselves. One afternoon, a party of 8 people were sitting by the water, and we took their seats when they left. They had accumulated a stack of trash that wasn't noticed by staff for an hour after we sat down. When the staff saw it, they, of course, cleaned it up immediately. With just some tweaks to the rules and staffing, the Inn would definitely get 5 stars.

An anniversary weekend (Sun-Tues) in a special place. The hotel was expensive, very focused on service, and offering good options for daytime activities. There is no high-tech WOW here, but everything is done with quiet class. A great place to escape, and relax. (We looked at the hotel as a possible wedding venue for our daughter two years ago -- see Wedding Crashers -- so we had an idea of what to expect.) We bought a package -- good room, breakfast (mostly), and a two-hour sailing cruise. Our garden room was nice, if a bit too close to the back garden entrance of the hotel. Breakfast was disappointing -- more below. Our two-hour sailing cruise (four pax total and a skipper) was very nice. We had a $45 credit for two people for breakfast each day (package), and couldn't keep it within the budget. Overpriced, if good, breakfast fare. My PET PEEVE: I'm spending hundreds of dollars a night, and they brag about the butter and preserves placed on the table each morning. But, be prepared to pay $5 for toast, English muffin or croissant. Cheap. I would have surrendered the whole pineapple or the unripe nectarines kindly placed in my room, in return for simple toast. Dinner at "Stars" restaurant was good (not in our package). See separate review. Tom W

I've stayed here for a night twice now, both times for a small group business retreat. Rooms are gargantuan, with lush, soft bedding. Bathrooms are more gargantuan, all with separate tub and shower. Service is very attentive, but not pushy. River/bay setting provides lovely views, particularly as the sun rises on the far side of the water. Can't speak to value, given I wasn't paying, but not for the feint of heart when it comes to price tag. In-house restaurant is nice, but better options within walking distance in St Michaels.
