Really disappointed in service. Things constantly wrong and left out throughout stay. Orders don't come, things left off, no response or seem to care. Pool towels were gone, drinks never came. Food was not right in room service, just a collection of bad interactions...not just one. Over $600 a night for this??

After our awesome trip to Peru and stay at Belmond Palacio Nazarenes we were excited to be spending my wife's 65 birthday at another Belmond property. Reading the reviews ahead of the visit I was set for a very nice place with average service Well ........ we arrived on our day of check in at 2:30 pm, was told room not ready and would call cell when ready, we relaxed in the sitting area. After an hour I checked the front desk with no update on status of room but promise to check. With a couple more check backs finally after 5:00 pm we asked a little less patiently about the status? The front desk clerk said ..... "Yes the room was ready as if it had been for hours" With 2 1/2 hours wasted I was not at all happy and would not accept the front desk manager explanation. We just wanted to get to our room to relax after a day of traveling which started at 4:30 am. Resort is beautiful and room quite nice Staff training at front desk is sadly virtually non existent. The folks at Belmond Palacio Nazarenes could teach these folks how to run a resort front desk. Planning trip on Belmond's VSOE next year and stay at Belmond properties in Italy Praying for better results A top franchise hotel like Belmond must do better. If staying here prepare to be frustrated. I confirm what many other reviews have stated. I write this as we are still staying at resort while totally avoiding the front desk staff.

What's not to love about the Inn at Perry Cabin? Beautiful, peaceful, classic, great service. A few things other travelers haven't mentioned: 1) go off season before or after the sailing people come--the inn and town are uncrowded (as is the excellent restaurant) and the rates are so much better. We went this time in late March and it was still warm enough to enjoy the beautiful grounds and our day in St. Michaels. 2) bring your dog. They love dogs. There is a dog concierge. They give you a recipe for their homemade dog biscuits (they call it "puppy crack." No kidding.)

We had an amazing stay at the Inn at Perry Cabin. The room was smallish, but so well appointed, comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, and serene. The staff was extremely attentive, professional, and friendly. The service from the bellman, to the front desk, to the restaurant and catering staff could not have been better. We also greatly enjoyed every meal, made use of the gorgeous pool, and toured, I believe, most of the gardens. So why am I giving it only 3/5. I think it is obnoxious to charge well over $600 a night before taxes and still add on a 10% resort fee, particularly when you aren't told in advance of this charge. Resort fees in my experience are typically a flat fee, as well, since each guest has access to same services rather than a percentage of room rate. I understand it might have been in the fine print somewhere, and I won't fight the desk clerk who is just tasked with informing guests and has no authority to change this. That just makes everyone uncomfortable. But the management and owners should know that after an amazing stay it leave a very bad last impression to see this on the statement. I would love to go back to the Inn at Perry Cabin, but hope they consider this policy and impact it has on customer satisfaction.
