Although the grounds are spectacular, this trip for my 75th birthday was a disappointment. We reserved online the top accommodations listed, a luxury water view suite for our one night stay. We arrived a little after 3, but our room was not ready for over an hour, when we got in, I was crushed because to see the water you had to stand in a corner of one room. We immediately requested a change of room as they were not full. Meanwhile we waited for over an hour before they performed what I consider an evil prank on us. A man offered to show us a new room and I followed him as best I could over a great distance and up the stairs. The room he showed me was buried in a treetop with no view of the water. I do not know how that could be perceived as anything less than bad treatment. Maybe the new management is instructing employees to be as mean as possible to guests. You might even call it elder abuse. Such a beautiful property deserves better management.

We returned to the Inn at Perry Cabin for our 35th Anniversary. We honeymooned there in 1982. Although the Inn has changed and gotten significantly larger in 35 years (it only had 6 rooms in 1982), the essence has not changed. Decorating our bed with rose petals with a 35 inside a heart was the icing on the cake.

When we pulled in we instantly knew we had to extend our vacation. The grounds were beautiful. The gardens were breathe taking and the staff was beyond exceptional. We traveled here on our honeymoon, and it was everything! After checking in we walked out to the lawn and just sat in their outer rondack chairs for a good hour and just looked out into the bay and say all the boats coming in and the fresh air. Our room.. was amazing little studio. We opted for the bed and breakfast package and we ate every morning our on our deck over looking the water. It did say we had a bay view.. which we kinda did... But we had a large tree blocking most of our view but it also gave us some privacy. The suite had two bathrooms a very large bed which was very comfortable. The main bath had a large bathtub that was nice for using my bath bomb and able to stretch out and relax in the bathtub. We did have a fireplace.. however we had no clue how to turn it on. Also if your able to go and do a spa day.. completely worth it. We had a 80 min body scrub.. and 80 min massage.. we left there like mush and it was fabulous. They do have bikes to travel into town which is a 5 min bike ride if you know what your doing... I have not rode a bike in over 9 years. And thank god for the grounds keepers giving me a good laugh bc I couldn't make the bike go straight for the life of me.. my Husband thought it was the funniest thing ever. While in town.. Justine ice cream was the locals favorite. Which it really was very good. We ate at the crab shack steak house. Very nice as well.. also paid a visit to the Christmas store to pick up a ornament from our trip... We were greeted by jingles the cat. The hotel also just started to offer a valet service which we used often. We drover out once to go to Oxford on a ferry. But they took us all over town. Was very sad to leave. We will be coming back again. The food to the service was top notch and nothing like we have ever experienced. Very nice way to start our honeymoon

I loved the atmosphere at this inn. The food and service were very good. It's a beautiful setting and very relaxing. However, there was a wedding which took place under a tent not far from our room. The music blared at a level we have never experienced at any hotel we've ever stayed. It finally stopped at 10pm, but then the wedding guests came into the inn quite noisily and over a period of a few hours, waking us each time, as though they were the only ones staying there. I would never stay there again when there was also a wedding.

It is hard not to love this hotel. the location, the setting, a staff that is attentive and friendly, the amenities, the beautiful grounds. We also took an afternoon sail with one of their captains for a wonderful time on the river. But when you make your reservation, make sure you ask about weddings that will be going on at the same time you are there. and specifically ask for a room that is away from the reception. unfortunately our room overlooked the reception tent and it was like we had a front row seat to the band. This hotel is in the wedding business so if you are there on a weekend, you most likely be sharing the hotel with the wedding party with all of the functions that go along with it. the wedding on the lawn, a packed bar, and a full reception with band or DJ. choosing your room carefully should make your stay so much quieter and more pleasant
