Our experience at the Simpson House Inn actually began 24 hours before we arrived when Andrea called to confirm when we anticipated arriving for our short stay. When we arrived the following day, Frank was right there at our car to greet us and help us to our cottage. Everything was meticulously cleaned and had a great visual aesthetic when we opened the door to our room with a welcome message and soft music playing. The grounds are well kept and beyond beautiful with lots of space to simply relax and take it all in. We enjoyed afternoon hors d’ouvres each day and were greeted each morning with a warm hello from David and Dana who prepared and served breakfast. This was our first time at Simpson House Inn and the staff’s dedication and service were A+ Excellent. Thank you all for making our brief getaway a most memorable one! We will be sure to come back for more.

Where to begin! We’ve been all over Southern CA the last 2 weeks as we take our daughters on college tours. We’ve stayed a lot of places! They were staying on a campus last night so we decided to spend our anniversary at Simpson House very last minute. I was blown away by the attention to detail, attentive staff, and lovely accommodations. I can’t believe how much we were fed! From check in to check out we wanted for nothing. It was such a lovely break from the chaos of our travels. Thank you for the soft sheets, beautiful, private room (Hayloft), stunning grounds, and lemon pastry to die for! I hope we are able to return to the area just to spend more time at Simpson House. Thank you, thank you!

We only had one night here and had to leave before really taking advantage of all the Inn has to offer. It’s so beautifully restored and the staff is completely dedicated to the guests’ comfort. My only issue was the mattress was quite lumpy! Evening hors doeuvres and breakfast were delicious. Grounds are beautiful with plenty of spots to enjoy the sun n or shade with privacy and quiet. We will be back again for sure!

Hesitant to leave such a great review just so we can keep this place a secret, however, this must be shared. We can’t recommend this elevated experience enough. Beautiful house with tranquil grounds and a kind attentive staff. It’s pure bliss!

Simpson House Inn is special because of the history, gardens and service. The rooms are rustic and well appointed, but you give up good water pressure, air conditioning and modern (comfortable) beds. We’ve overlooked the downside because “the experience” has always been special with past visits. Today, the service was disappointing. We cannot stay for the breakfast and asked to just have pastries (no Eggs Benedict, juice, coffee, fruit, oatmeal)… just pastries. I’ve posted a pic of what they gave me… the communication was indifferent, almost rude. So much for “good service.”
