We have stayed at this hotel before and find it comfortable and relaxing. Centrally located near shopping, restaurants and historic places it is easy to walk everywhere. Room service breakfast was great and Diane, the concierge is knowledgeable and friendly. Staff was nice also. No hot tub outside with pool. Valet parking only.

It was different - quaint, and had a decent lounge area. Nice little fire pits outside if you wanted to be out in the cold :) Room we got was handicap accessible - so that made it different. I do not know what the regular rooms are like :-/

Great location but this may be the ugliest hotel we have ever stayed in at any price. I thought we were booking a luxury hotel in the heart of town for $253 in off season. Two good things about this hotel are the location and the staff are very, very nice. The decor is black and a dark spicy red including all four walls in the room. Our room had a small window with heavy gold velvet drapes on a painted curtain rod in the same red, some of the hooks were unhooked which made them look tired and unattended. The carpet was black and cream as well as the bedspread. There were large heavy decorative pillows scattered about in the same colors but they took up precious space on the sparse floor area when moved from the bed and chairs. There were two cigar chairs in a caramel leather like material. Such large chairs for a small room. There was hardly anyplace to set anything even with finding the two rickety luggage stands in the tiny, stuffed closet. The lamps were cheap looking though I'm sure they were not and probably the work of a local wrought iron "artist". My husband finally had to unplug the one on his nightstand because it kept glowing even though it was turned off when we went to bed. None of the light switches are where you would expect them and the barber shop pedestal sink affords no space to set anything for two people sharing the room. We went to the restaurant and were told there was a long wait even though there were many tables vacant. The pool had green water and the walls of the pool looked dirty though the garden was beautiful surrounding it. Overall it is a dark depressing place. It definitely needs a fluff and update. I want to compliment the desk staff and the valet staff who were very, very nice and professional. Maybe it will get an update soon, overall we were disappointed considering it was a four diamond hotel and pricey.

The location steps from the plaza but remote enough you feel you have been transported to a destination all its own. Don't miss out on the Spa it's service and experience is one of a kind. Totally green and loved the private tub.

I just spent 3 nights at The Loretto with my 22 and 24 daughters and we all enjoyed the charm and friendly staff of the Inn. Coming from NYC and DC, and frequent travelers to the RItz Carlton & Fairmont hotels, this mid-size hotel was exactly what we were looking for to take in the unique cultural Santa Fe and the West. The hotel decor is a western/indian mix. Our room while small was cozy and clean with a good size TV. For us, the room's main purpose is to sleep. The lobby/bar area was comfortable with leather couches and chairs that provided a perfect hangout for me to have a coffee and read the paper while the girls slept in. We were on the AMEX fine hotels and resorts package, so had a delicious breakfast every day and welcomed by our same waiter each morning. Service was great. After a day of hiking and travels up to Los Alamos and Bandelier Nat. Monument, a chilly rain came in so we decided just to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent as well as the service. The Inn's location was perfect- just 2 blocks from the Plaza. The other day we hung out at the pool after walking around the town. While it was a modest size pool, it was surrounded by large pots of overflowing flowers and wooden chaise lounge chairs with burnt-orange cushions that blended in well with the pueblo style architecture. Waiters brought waters and then they had a phone available to call for service, so I called for a diet coke. Just a few minutes later it came, and the waiter brought me a coke compliments of the house. They also had water, apples and coffee for all, which is just a nice touch. Finally, we didn't have a hotel in Taos for the next night, but the front desk girl told me I had to stay at this one hotel and she went ahead and made the reservation for me. We had a delightful stay at the Loretto and would be happy to return!
