Reviews for Inn and Spa at Loretto

Very good stay with a few blips

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We booked this hotel through Chase Sapphire Reserve. This hotel is quite nice but needs a few level ups. To start with the good - the property itself is charming with an excellent location steps from the square. The lobby is beautiful and the pool is lovely. It is very dog friendly, which matters to us. The bed linens were very comfortable and we appreciated the welcome gift, along with the fact that there was a refrigerator and safe in the room. The blue corn pancakes at Luminaria were out of this world and the servers were friendly. The valets were great and responsive. This hotel does a great job combining the feel of a resort, which you might have to go further out of town to find, with the charm of Santa Fe. The areas for improvement - the front desk staff and hostess at Luminaria were kind of...vague? The restaurant was closed for breakfast, which is part of our CSR benefit, because of a maintenance issue. We requested lunch vouchers, which was promptly honored. When we tried to use them at lunch, we were told that Luminaria was too busy (it was half full) and that the kitchen was backed up. We ended up eating snacks at the pool. Our room appeared to be ready but weren't told - we were just relaxing in the lovely lobby bar and didn't much care, but it still would have been nice to know. The room was much smaller than it appeared to be on the website (vista grande for reference) and also, our "vista" wasn't so great. The pool service was often overwhelmed (but extremely friendly!). We very much enjoyed our trip, but just felt that there were a few hiccups that kept this from being a truly luxury experience that we typically find with CSR properties. That being said, we still appreciated our visit and hope to return because of the location.

Rooms definitely in need of refurbishing ..tired place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Rooms in dire need of refurbishing. Chipping paint on woodwork. Fabric backside rotting on curtains to patio . Zero view even though terrazzo room. Not a 4 or 5 star experience. Staff did not text us when room was ready upon our arrival .although we booked virtuoso, and were given a complimentary bottle of wine and the other amenities, just wasn’t the hotel experience I have had at other virtuoso properties. Would not stay there again .I tried to upload photos but kept freezing my iPad so you will just have to “trust” me!

Perfect getaway!

Stayed and visited the Inn and Spa at Loretto. Very good accommodations. I had two services in the Spa and both were very relaxing and professional. Well worth the visit to the spa. The location was excellent and very easy to navigate by car or walking from the hotel.

Challenging stay.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The stay was only average but unfortunately the hotel management refuses to make improvements. First, the in room A/C unit in our room, #428, was extremely noisy, not just loud. Rattling, metal on metal, etc. Second it did not cool below 72 degrees. We are frequent SF visitors and understand AC expectations, but when it gets in the upper 80's, in a closed hotel room, it is not comfortable even if the noise was not an issue. And yes we asked for another room but was unavailable. Leave the patio door open in the middle of the night when the temps drop...maybe if you are not concerned about someone coming in from adjacent patios. The hotel does not have a place to purchase water, soft drinks, vending machines so you are out of luck if you want something like this after hours. Staff is nice and helpful but getting a decent night's sleep is not possible. It's a shame since the convenience and access is excellent.
