Reviews for Inn and Spa at Loretto
My friend and I were on a road trip. We had decided we would splurge in Santa Fe and stay at a very nice hotel because we were on the road so many days. There are a lot of choices in Santa Fe for a nice stay. We chose the Inn and Spa at Loretta because it looked like the epitome of Santa Fe, was downtown and looked very charming. We checked in and went to our room to discover it was a king room instead of the two double beds my friend had reserved 3 weeks earlier. We went back to the desk to let them know we had the wrong room. We were told they had overbooked the double rooms and there were none left, but they had upgraded us to this very nice king room. We did not want to share a bed and we told them that. So they offered a roll-away. After the roll-away was delivered they called us and said they were giving us a $100 gift certificate to the restaurant in the hotel. First, don’t overbook your rooms so that people don’t get the room they want - these are no inexpensive rooms. Second, don’t assume that people who book a room with two beds are happy to have an upgraded room where they have to share a bed. Third, the gift certificate was for their own restaurant so probably not $100 out of their pocket. It was a nice gesture on behalf of the staff at the front desk, but the practice of overbooking rooms is unacceptable.
I stayed at the Inn and Spa at Loretto this weekend and the service was outstanding. Steven, who checked me in, was courteous and remembered me every time I went by the Front Desk. I also dined in Luminaria and had the huevos rancheros, which were delicious, and Carlos (my server) was friendly, personable, and attentive. Of course, the hotel is just off the plaza so the location can't be beat. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone headed southwest.
Not what I expected. Nice lobby. There are few signs to direct you to the room and the elevator was broken so it was a far walk to the room. Average room, very dark and not much light...are they afraid we will see the dirt?? I would not recommend since there are beautiful places to stay in Santa Fe.

I spent my weekend here and it was wonderful. Ask for room 333- it has a lovely view of the Loretto chapel. The beds are sooo comfortable! Luminaria was a great place for the YUMMIEST deserts. Truly a gem in santa fe and I could not have asked for a better say!
This is our 4th stay - we are here for a week this time on business. We love the location - lots of great restaurants walking distance. I especially want to commend the staff. They really go out of their way to be helpful and are always friendly. BJ did an especially good job resolving an important issue for us. My biggest suggestion for improvement is not to stop the coffee and tea service at 9:00am. Many guests like coffee and tea until 11:00am or later. Thank you.
