Pleasant find in Tucson!

This is such a beautiful place to stay. The room was very comfortable, staff were very helpful and friendly and it was located close to places to eat. The grounds were full of flora and the outdoor amenities were great! It was also very quiet and I slept like a baby. I also enjoyed the private patio that was outside my room. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent except for one major problem

This is a lovely place where we have stayed many times. The service is impeccable, in most cases far above what is normal these days. The grounds are wonderful. Afternoon tea is a bonus, and it is nice to see newspapers still available. There is one problem, though: the dining room is closed most of the time, and patrons have to crowd into the bar, often with waits, to be fed. No one could explain to me why this was the case, and other luxury hotels in the region don't seem to have the problem. They have been saying for months full dining service is about to be restored but it never happens.

Historic hotel with a mattress to match

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I can understand why the Arizona Inn has been around so long and is so beloved! It’s a beautiful property with immaculate grounds (perfectly manicured, green lawns abound), the location is great (very charming, centrally located neighborhood), and all the staff we interacted with were very nice. The clientele is definitely older, and the aesthetic and amenities definitely feel tailored to an older country club crowd. Parking was a breeze, and getting in and out of the hotel was super easy. We stayed in a patio king room, which had lovely, semi-private outdoor areas. While the decor is old-fashioned, the room was very clean and outfitted with things like convenient plugs, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, etc., and was really spacious! But the mattress was a surprising deal breaker—creaky and saggy and turned into a taco when we laid on it. We aren’t particularly fussy about mattresses—in fact, we could only think of one other mattress this bad in our 12+ years of traveling together, and it was in an Airbnb. Unfortunately, this really affected the quality of our stay, and we wouldn’t stay here again for that reason alone. You can visit the hotel to enjoy the bar and restaurant, without sacrificing a good night’s sleep (and paying dearly for the privilege!).

The Best Place to stay in Tucson!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The Arizona Inn is our favorite place in Tucson. We gather there for all our special events, ex. my husband's 80th birthday celebration. Did you know that the queen of England once stayed at the Arizona Inn? It is so elegant. The rooms and grounds are absolutely beautiful. There is also a clay tennis court as well as a most lovely pool area. It is a gift to be at the Inn.

Lovely hotel and would happily stay here again

We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in. The grounds are beautiful with cactus plantings and green lawns. Each room is nestled behind a hedge to give you some privacy. When we arrived in our king patio room there was a complimentary basket of goodies for us. There were also bottles of water which were replaced every day. The bathroom had fresh flowers in a vase by the sink. All nice touches. The bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of plugs for our gadgets. Also, it was the quietest hotel that we have ever stayed in. In the afternoons they had a delicious complimentary cream tea set out in the library. The library was decked out for the holidays with a Christmas tree. The staff were very helpful and gracious every time we talked to them or asked a question. The room was cleaned daily which we have not seen in hotels in other states. The location was perfect as it was easy to get around with many choices of restaurants within a 10 minute drive. We never ate at the hotel and chose to visit a coffee shop each morning for breakfast.

My wife and I visited the Arizona Inn in November. The staff made me realize what I had been missing at other hotels. From check-in to check-out they were courteous and attentive to our every need. High tea was a real treat and the food was wonderful. We want to make this an annual event!
