Abigail's Hotel is an outstanding property and the hotel, service staff and breakfast and afternoon appetizer chef all deserve their #1 rating. Our room and the Hotel facilities (including the relaxing library) were immaculate and the staff went above and beyond to assure our comfort on this 50th Anniversary trip. Some may count it a negative that there is no fitness room, but a 4-star cardio, fitness and weight training center with indoor swimming pool and basketball court are only a short block and a half away at the YMCA-YWCA and the membership fees are more than reasonable. After your workout the short trek back to Abigail's is all downhill. We called upon the staff for dinner and to-do recommendations and their suggestions were excellent. This Hotel is a Win-Win!!

We had a 2 night stay at Abigail's Hotel in early June and it was wonderful! They have done a marvelous job decorating the hotel and making it feel cozy and warm. It has all the amenities one would want. The friendly staff goes out of their way to make you feel special. The delicious breakfast menu offers many gourmet choices and changes each day. We enjoyed sitting in the outside patio area in the afternoon with appetizers and drinks. We highly recommend Abigail's for anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, quiet and peaceful hotel with lot's of charm.

This was a one night stopover as we continued on our travels through Canada and the U.S. Whilst Victoria itself didn't leave a lasting impression on us, this hotel more than made up for it. It's located at the end of a quiet residential street but only a short walk to the main areas of the city. A hotel that's been beautifully maintained over the years, it is rich in character and style. The rooms may not be the biggest but they have everything you need and lovingly cosy for a couple. Breakfast the next morning was rather busy but they were only too happy to offer us a dining table in the library which was lovely. Staff all very attentive and friendly.

We stayed here for almost two weeks, part business, part pleasure. Not once did Chef Josh repeat a breakfast entree, and all the breakfasts are prepared with care and fresh ingredients. Sometimes we wished others would not notice the quality of the food, because on those rare occasions when there were leftover scones or muffins (wrapped and left in a basket by the entrance for guests to take later in the day as they pleased), we would be sure to pocket one or two for enjoyment the next day. Do two old chaps need more scones and muffins? They do when the baked goods are that delicious. If I said we ate the extra baked goods because we felt the need to keep everyone else in the place gluten-free, I would be lying, but surely we did our small bit to remove caloric temptations for others at Abigail's. We expected no thanks for that. We felt it to be our duty. The staff deserve special recognition for their good will, sense of humor, and attentiveness. Jaime, Krill, Tasha, Brenda, Sean, Kachi -- all of them put us in good spirits each day, and took care of things that we didn't even know we wanted cared for. We didn't get everyone's name (mostly due to our bad memories, so we need forgiveness on that score), but the staff is all around exceptional. The staff impressed us with their ability to ensure that the common areas were always flawless, but not in a way that would damage the welcoming atmosphere in the rooms. If I had dropped some scone crumbs on the floor, for example (and that wouldn't have happened -- anyone with sense wouldn't want to miss the taste of those delicious crumbs and would take the necessary precautions), people on staff would have, moments later, without drawing attention to themselves, erased that mess. You will also find that the common areas do what they are supposed to do. The library contains books you would want to read, games you might play, and furniture that invites your body to relax while having a pastry and a warm beverage. As we were heading to the airport, the taxi driver summed up everything nicely: "Victoria is perfect." We feel that way about Abigail's. -- Tommy & Bruce

We stayed here 3 nights, before embarking on a cruise. Abigail's is centrally located. Easy to walk to restaurants, and attractions. The service was exceptional, as was the room and food. Our room as quite large, with a king bed, sitting area, fireplace, and large bathroom with a huge jetted tub and rain shower shower head. The breakfasts were wonderful, full breakfasts. Appetizers are served at 5 PM, and are also flavorful, varied, and substantial, especially if one had a large or late lunch. We look forward to visiting Abigail's again!
