The Pitcher Inn is situated along the banks of the Mad River in one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont. Originally built in the 18th century, the inn was named one of New England's Best by Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report and has been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler readers as one of the Top 100 Hotels in the Mainland US. Elegant and whimsical at once, this distinguished member of Relais & Chateaux features just 11 exquisitely appointed guest rooms and suites.

No matter the surroundings, furnishings and luxe toiletries, a visitor’s lasting impression is always made by its staff. “Desk” Tracey, neighborly Heather and the genial TT made our visit wonderful.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Pitcher Inn & it was ‘Pitch Perfect’. Our room ( Calvin Coolidge) was well appointed, clean, & comfortable. All the staff were delightful ; always available with useful information, prompt service or just a friendly chat. Special shout-out to Mary Lou & the other front desk staff as well as all the servers in tne Dining Room & Tracks. We visited the Pitcher in 12 years ago but we won’t wait that long again before returning.

Me & my wife we visit Pitcher Inn for the first time, we had such a fantastic time here. Check in process was so easy, Mary Lou took the time to explain everything that is happening on property, also she escort us to the room. After a long drive that day, we decided to have dinner at the Inn. Dinner was SPECTACULAR!!! I had the Short Rib serve with grits, poached egg, au jus and pickled onion, my wife had Lobster Pasta - service was great - Betsy was so profesional and super friendly! We also had breakfast the next day - Chef prepared two delicious Omelettes, also our server Heather was outstanding! Every staff member that we met at the Pitcher Inn was so friendly and always with a smile on! Thank you Pitcher Inn for a great stay, we will definitely come back!

Two people in our party tested positive just before our trip to VT to visit family and we did the right thing not to travel and not to check in at the Pitcher Inn. I left several voicemails to explain the situation ASAP and was never contacted by the manager. I explained that I could not get insurance for our trip as the only way we would not go is if one of us got COVID and insurance would not cover for that. I was hoping to get some understanding and even propose to rebook whenever convenient to the Pitcher Inn - I asked to only use one of the 2 rooms we booked... All I got was a short email from guest service telling me that I will be fully charged for the two rooms :(

It's been two years since we've traveled (for the most part)...Covid kept us at home, being VERY careful. With numbers declining, we decided to return to the Pitcher Inn and were not disappointed (except for the increase in rates since our last visit which seemed to have doubled). We stayed in Arthur which faced Main Street and allowed us to enjoy the lights on Main Street and the comings and goings of the Warren General Store. Accommodations were lovely. Despite the weather, we were able to enjoy the nicely appointed porch/balcony. Loved the lighting of the rooms with dimmers and "all on" and "all off" switches. The bathroom was divine with the soaking tub and steam shower. Breakfasts exceeded expectation, even today when (during Lent) we couldn't have meat, the kitchen accommodated us with an omelet loaded with veggies! Heather was great in guiding us through the menu as well as plans for the day. Last night's dinner at tracks was delicious and intimate in the little nook...Betsey couldn't have been more helpful and/or fun! Highly recommend the Pitcher Inn to anyone looking to slow it down, get pampered, and truly appreciate what Vermont is all about.
