Reviews for Inn at Sawmill Farm

OUTSTANDING !!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed October 2, 2022

Our second visit to the Sawmill Inn. The entire resort is first class. Was booked into one of their cottages. Cozy, quaint, and clean. Dinner at the Inn was spectacular with an extensive wine reserve. Would strongly recommend. A great location for a wedding or company retreat.

Wonderful 5 star place to stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 22, 2018

Loved the accommodations and bar. Comfortable king beds. Great home cooked meals from a great chef. Get the tomato juice to bring home. Easy to get to and a real 5 star resort with a golf course just a short distance away. great place to see the foliage

For Sale !! Don’t stay here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 2, 2018

All amenities have been striped from the Inn and they have a For Sale sign on the property. The restaurant and all food services are closed. The Inn's recreation area is closed and the lights are off. The parking lot was a sheet of ice when we arrived so some intelligent person decided to put down black coal rocks to melt the ice. These black coal rocks are now all over the property, rooms, shoes and luggage and have followed me home !! Basically you get a key and a room and if you have any issues you have to call the Hermitage customer service number and leave a voicemail. No one is on the property to help you after 5:00pm when you get back from a long day of skiing. The list of issues goes on and on. I will be contacting the Hermitage Club for a full refund.

Dissatisfied Overall Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed December 30, 2017

As we are starting to check out at the Inn at Sawmill Farms I felt it was important to express our extreme dissatisfaction with the overall property and customer service. My brother has stayed at Hermitage properties before to include Sawmill. We booked this property back in May for two reasons, The Hermitage name and reputation and for the convenience of having a home restaurant and bar/fire area after a long day of snow sports. Upon arrival we were informed there is no restaurant and not enough staff to maintain the fire and entertainment as in years passed. With small children this changes things. Paying over $400 a night to stay at a property where we physically have to pack our kids up to grab a bite to eat is inexcusable. Two rooms were rented Cider House 1 & 2. My family and I stayed in 1. The smell of mildew in the room was extremely strong, there was no walk off area for boots and the carpet was soaked constantly. The coffee maker did not work, there was not enough toilet paper and our room was not cleaned. Staff members were scarce. Anytime you called or went to the front desk no one was around. It literally took us finding Bob Kudelski at the Hermitage Club to voice our concerns to get a working coffee maker. Is this the customer service that Hermitage offers? I could see if this was a lower end/price property but for the amount of money spent to travel to Vermont from Florida to go on a wild goose chase for toilet paper and coffee maker is not acceptable. I will say the Glenn at the Hermitage Inn was amazing ! We were never notified that the Mountain was closed and he made accommodations for our children to at least be able to tube and snowmobile. Without him our entire stay at Hermitage would have been a wash. I expect some type of response and rectification from Hermitage for the lack of customer service we received.

Wedding weekend getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 17, 2017

Understanding that this property was taken over by Hermitage was helpful to hope that they will put their first class attention to this property in the future. The exterior photos on their web page and this site must be from several years ago, the grounds are in need of some serious attention.. gravel where flowers used to be. You can not see the sign from Route 100, it is blocked by underbrush. They did allow me to check in at 2pm which was nice since I had been in area since early morning ( my husband doing some pre-wedding golfing) it was a beautiful Indian summer day but pool was not open and I was told it had not been open this summer at all. Would have been nice just to sit around outside there while waiting . The rooms had ice buckets but was told when I asked there was no ice machine (or mini fridge) I ended up buying a foam cooler and ice at 7-11. The restaurant was also closed and there was no place to get food or beverages on the premises. The room was beautiful with a balcony and a/c, who'd have thought we'd need that in September? The mattress was very comfortable...very quiet overall......the in room coffee was very good and appreciated, since I would have had to drive to get a cup. Bottled water also there daily. I enjoyed the bike/walk trail along Rt 100 for exercise. Shuttle offers to events. Staff very friendly and helpful...Hermitage needs to give this place a little TLC ....
