Beechwood Hotel

The customer service at the Beechwood Hotel was exceptional. I am recuperating from the side effects of chemotherapy from colon cancer. The side effects have affected my ability to walk and my eyesight. The staff put me in room 107 which is the BEST accessible room I have been in since receiving chemotherapy. Derrick on the evening shift on the front desk went out of his way to insure that I was comfortable and that I could find my way to the restaurant. The morning shift was equally helpful in directing me to my meeting room. During the meeting our banquet server Alex also went out of his way to help serve me during the food service. On top of that the food and service in the bar was outstanding. Gigi and the young man who is the bartender, Dante, I believe was his name, were terrific; so much so I ate dinner there both nights. The bar area was very well lighted and easier for me to navigate than the restaurant in the evening. Thank you to everyone who made my stay exceptional. This is the way a hotel should operate! Thank you for a terrific experience,Ken Reid

A Gem of a Hotel--Located Near U Mass Medical Complex

This is my 'go to' place in Massachusetts. The suites with fireplace and the security of the lift for card access only plus the on site restaurant make this a real gem. The prices and staff are a real bargain. For weekenders make sure to book in advance as it's a wedding venue too.

Best In Worcester!

The Beechwood never fails to meet our expectations and comfort and is the only place we stay when we are in the area which is about 6 times a year. We are also thrilled that the rest is now open on a regular schedule.

Without a doubt, it was the most luxurious hotel in the Worcester area during its prime.

Sadly, the hotel rooms have fallen to the depths of neglect. We stayed in a room with twin beds and agreed that the Beechwood Hotel was no longer the shining gem of hotels in the Worcester area. I had other family members who flew in from out of state who stayed at the hotel as well, and we all agreed it was a sad situation regarding the current state of the hotel. The rooms were dusty, outdated, and unkempt, with a TV from the early 2000s and dingy furniture. Although the bathroom seemed recently renovated and clean, this is not what one would expect for the cost of a stay at such a hotel. We discovered long black strands of hair accompanied by short black hair all over the inside of the sheets of the bed. As we both have short gray hair and never slept in bed, we were completely disgusted. It was as if somebody had just moved the sheets and things of the bed after somebody had already slept in it. The sheets had a foul smell to them and displayed signs of sweat stains, suggesting that it was clear that they had not been cleaned after the previous guests. My brother made the call to the front desk to request that someone come up and replace the sheets on our beds. The person who answered the call assured us that someone would be up shortly and apologized for the inconvenience. Soon, we heard a knock on the door from a gentleman holding a bunch of supposedly clean sheets and comforters. He claimed he was the hotel security guard, and there was no one else to attend to the matter. My brother and I immediately looked at each other because we could smell the stench of marijuana when he walked into the room with the sheets. His eyes looked red, and he appeared slow and sleepy. We both chalked this up to be a sign of the times, and we understand that we were in Massachusetts, where this activity is common and no longer illegal and has apparently become, over the past few years, the culture of the state. We did find it strange this was the practice of the hotel security who is overseeing the facility. But then again, I did not find it an issue due to the nature of the current location and state laws. I have concluded that the difficulties encountered by the Beachwood Hotel may be due to a high percentage of unmotivated and unprincipled workers in Worcester, as well as the changing cultural landscape of the state. The responsibility for the hotel's condition and the performance of its cleaning staff ultimately falls on the management.

We had a great time. Place was clean, friendly, secure, cozy, great area. Our fireplace was only half working, told front desk and they fixed immediately. No complaints! We had a great stay and would certainly return.

The Beechwood Hotel was great, the overnight front desk guy was beyond great. The restaurant was pretty good too. The server Ann was fabulous. Thank you.

As a hotel general manager, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of personality upon arrival in both the decor and staff. The accommodations were superior and offered every amenity including Frette linens. Certainly the owner spared no expense in furnishings and refinements. By far the best rooms in the 'City of Seven Hills'! The Beechwood Hotel was an outstanding experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.
