Lodge at Chaa Creek

My family and another family spent 5 nights at the Ix Chel villas in Chaa Creek and had a fabulous experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by our liaisons Candi, and Ryan. The beautiful property and tropical chic accommodations were set within a living, breathing rainforest that teemed with wildlife. Howler monkeys, a kinkajou, toucans, iguanas, and agouti were just some of the animals we saw on our trips. Within a short distance from the resort, we were able to tour the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich and get to have a hands-on iguana experience, both of which surpassed our expectations. Our guide Emil was wonderful with our kids ( 5 in total 4-9yo) and knowledgable on the Mayan culture. Great food, great service, and an unreal location. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived, the natural beauty of the property was absolutely breathtaking—surrounded by jungle, wildlife, and peaceful views everywhere you looked. It felt like a perfect balance of luxury and nature. The hospitality was exceptional. Every single staff member greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel welcomed and cared for. The service was outstanding from the drivers to and from the resort, to the restaurant staff, to the adventure guides. The food was off the charts—every meal felt special, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere throughout the resort was relaxing, beautiful, and incredibly safe. We felt comfortable walking anywhere on the property, even at night, which made traveling with our family so much easier. A special thank you to Edward, who guided us on our cave tubing adventure. He was an absolute gentleman and perfect for our family. He understood exactly how to create the right balance of fun, adventure, and control—especially with my energetic 8-year-old son. He made the entire experience smooth, exciting, and memorable for all of us. We loved our entire Belize vacation, but Chaa Creek stood above everything else. If I could change one thing, it would be staying there longer. We truly wish we had booked more time at Chaa Creek, and we cannot wait to return.

I stayed here at the end of my central American tour. It is a lovely place to stay and to rest. I had a chalet which was very comfortable and well supplied with amenities. The restaurant does great dinners with lovely food and huge portions. Lots to do on sight and the Belize Botanic Gardens are near. However, it is a very hilly location. As a relatively fit 78 year old it was not very easy to get around.

Room was awesome so was food, pool, service, and nature! Do the horseback riding!!!! Butterfly sanctuary is a must! Lots of animals!

Deron was the highlight of a spectacular trip although everyone who works around Chaa Creek is incredibly friendly, kind and accommodating. We did ziplining and cave tubing and it was perfect, we also did the RTV tour which was so fun and exciting for all of us. The open hearth kitchen experience was really worth it, and one of the best meals we had. We made shrimp ceviche, chicken and rice and beans and it was a gourmet meal. Chaa Creek did not disappoint in ANY way. Be aware that some of the rooms have open bathrooms and showers with no doors. Our teenagers sharing a room were NOT amused but figured it out.
