Let me start by saying we were really looking forward to our stay at Calistoga Ranch for almost 6 months after booking it. We brought our dog with us too since they were dog friendly and he loves coming with us on vacations. Checkin was flawless, we got to our room and it was a little smaller than we were expecting but that was fine. After quickly throwing down our stuff we walked around the grounds which were nice, went to dinner in downtown Calistoga which was great and came back to the room. Upon turning on the lights we noticed there was about 20+ flies in our room which I spent the next hour trying to kill so we could sleep. I called the front desk to tell them about the dilemma only to get a "well this happens out here" which was pretty upsetting. After I killed them all we finally went to sleep. Upon checkout the girl checking us out said "hope you guys had a great time, did your dog do the bacon scavenger hunt while here? Or did you guys order off the doggy room service menu for him?" We were never told about either option at checkin otherwise we would've for sure did it. Antother customer service misfire. All in all if you are paying $1,000+ a night I'd expect superb customer service and flawless execution which we did not have. We were really let down by the experience here and it left a sour taste in our mouths.

This was our second stay at Calistoga Ranch. We were there for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The proximity to great hiking as well as great food and wine is wonderful. The staff treats everyone so well and makes staying there a pleasure. The suites are very private and make for a relaxing get away. The onsite hiking trails are quite nice as well as the pool and spa. I would definitely recommend Calistoga Ranch to others.

It was our great good fortune to spend our first visit to Napa Valley staying at beautiful Calistoga Ranch. Although the Oak Creek cottages where we stayed are placed very close together, we felt completely private. The cottage's rooms (two flanking a large deck) are handsomely furnished and extremely comfortable. What a pleasure to sit out on the deck surrounded by trees and enjoy the two-sided glass-walled fireplace and the hot tub. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable and the main bathroom was enormous and beautifully equipped. Though it was just cool enough to discourage use of the outdoor shower, I imagine it would be heavenly in the summer. We really appreciated having the second bathroom off the living room as well. The only slight glitch in our stay was the initial failure of the front desk to recognize our Andrew Harper amenities upon our arrival, but that was quickly resolved. What really impressed us was the quality of the staff. Virtually every staffer we encountered was genuinely cheerful, friendly and enthusiastically helpful with anything we needed. Each one asked us where we were dining and what we enjoyed doing, and offered great suggestions for places to go. Staff here are superior to nearly anywhere else we have stayed. Breakfasts were opulent and room service was prompt and delicious. The pool bar and pool area were lovely, a manicured contrast to the rustic hills and pines of the rest of the property. The spa was very nice with good services and a charming shop. However, the best part of staying at Calistoga Ranch was wandering the large grounds and enjoying its wild beauty. We are looking forward to returning.

Beautiful grounds off the main road, quiet and elegant. No cars on the property. You are transported around on golf carts or walk to enjoy the views. We were greeted with a lovely glass of Chardonnay while we checked in. The staff is exactly what you expect from an Auberge property. Excellent. Each of the rooms is its own cottage and is nestled amongst the trees. Extremely private. From the front porch with a fireplace to the optional outdoor shower. The restaurant service and food is top notch. The pool area pristine and situated with many different niches to sit and relax and view the vineyard and the mountain. At the end of the vineyard is a chicken coop and you are welcome to go in the morning and get fresh eggs and take them to the restaurant and they will make them for you. Cannot say enough great things about the resort. If you like luxury and privacy and service over the top this is your place.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here and it was the perfect place for us to unwind and spend time together. The Calistoga Ranch provides the perfect combination of seclusion with access to plenty of activities. The resort is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. We relaxed, we hiked, did a balloon ride and of course we did some wine tours. The concierge scheduled all our off-property activities and did a great job of taking care of everything so we didn't have to. We have already planned a trip back!
